Three years after Techland launched Xpand Rally in Europe, the company knew it was time to step up and release a sequel, an improved version of the original game. This is Xpand Rally Xtreme. The main features of the first title were beautiful graphics with carefully modeled cars and lots of nice lighting effects. Unfortunately for them, Xpand Rally was a rally game, not a photo shoot simulator, so the game was criticized in what concerns its approach to driving.

Wroclaw, 2007-01-02: Techland announced today, that a new demo of Xpand Rally Xtreme is available for download. The demo contains two single player racing tracks with both the arcade and simulation modes enabled. Malaysia will give you the opportunity to test your car's handling on asphalt and gravel, while sliding through grooves, making long jumps and maxing out on long straights. Italy is a technically demanding track. Huge and rapid altitude changes, narrow roads and multiple curves require attention and supreme car handling skills. Banal mistakes will cause hitting roadside rocks, walls and other objects. You'll also find two vehicle to choose from. You're free to tune them and change their skins as you see fit. Each car can be set individually for every race track. Download the demo now and experience what a real rally feels like.

Techland announced that a new single player demo of Xpand Rally Xtreme will be available for download in early January 2007. Two distinct rally tracks, Malaysia and Italy, will be featured in the demo. The file will also give players the chance to try out two different vehicles, each of which can be tuned, set up and painted to suit the driver�s needs. Both the Arcade and Simulation driving modes will make an appearance. Arcade mode was created with inexperienced players in mind, who like to drive fast and dangerously without worrying over the consequences. Simulation mode is best suited for demanding players, who want their driving model to be as close to reality as possible, and want to have the possibility of fine-tuning their ride.

Techland has issued a new movie trailer for Xpand Rally Xtreme, revealing more of their upcoming modern racing simulation sequel. This trailer comes in regular and extremely high resolutions to demonstrate some of the game's settings, features and more in a bit over a minute of mostly in-engine sequences.

Xpand Rally Xtreme � as this is the title of the sequel � will contain similar content to the original Xpand Rally but in totally xtreme variation. In game, apart from well known rally cars, gamers will find super-fast GT vehicles, DTR group buggies, off-road 4x4 cars and Monster Trucks group trucks. Like the original XR, game contains career mode, single races and multiplayer. It will be based on the proven Chrome Engine and players will get the ChromEd editor to create their own tracks and even game modes.
