Virtual Racing Chassis
  Origin 24H Green Hell [11-09-2010 | DH | Comments (0) ]
Porsche GT3 997, Nordschleife: With the new video, Simracers and fans of virtual motorsports can look forward to the "Origin 24H Green Hell" - read more about the event's details (you can still register for the race) and the promotion trailer.

Following this summer's 24 hours de la Sarthe Sim-Racing-de still has another highlight up its sleeve or the friends of virtual motorsports. In autumn, on November 6th to be precise, a new endurance race, the "Origin 24H Green Hell" will be staged on the Nordschleife with the Porsche GT3 997. With their partner OriginPC, who will enter the European market with a range of high-end products in December, a 24 hour race based on rFactor in conjunction with the "PCC 24h 2009" modification which was created and adapted by the GMSF Modding group (the German Sim Mod Foundation) will be held for the very first time. The event will sport many new features: Only the 2009 Porsche GT3 997 will be used and the rules were reworked completely with many additional sections being added to them. Another premiere will be the use of back-up vehicles on the game server which will be provided to teams who dropped out of the race at the driver change.

There will be two seperate grids with 30 vehicles each and in case of more than 75 entries a third grid will be used pushing the total number of possible teams to 90. Every team has to provide at least 2 drivers and a maximum number of 5 drivers may share a car. As usual, participation in at least two of the test races is mandatory in order to be allowed to race in the main event. The first 10 test races will be evaluated in the way of a small championship which will decide which teams will race on which server. Test races will be conducted every Tuesday and Thursday with additional races being held on Saturdays in order to facilitate things for drivers not comfortable with week-day events.

The "Origin 24H Green Hell" modification is available for registered drivers only but registering for the event is still possible until 8 pm CET on September 16th in the forum of Sim-Racing.de. A team will be considered as properly registered if at least 2 drivers are listed in the forum and in the site's league system. The test races are also open for drivers of a team that plans to register in the second stage of the registration process.

No effort is being spared by the organisers of the event and this also goes for the numerous preparatory events. For each test race 3 game servers plus a back-up/practise server are provided and at least 1 live-stream will be on-air every time. All 3 grids of the main event will be broadcast live on simrace.tv's 3 channels and will feature German and English commentary.

Facts:

Supported Languages: English and German
Eventday: 06th of November 3:00 p.m. (CET)
End of Registration: 16th of September (CEST)
Testraces: Every Tuesdays and Thursdays, additional 4 Saturdays
Download Mod & Track: Only for registered teams on Sim-Racing.de

  Shelby Can-Am mod released [01-09-2010 | DH | Comments (0) ]
The Shelby Can-Am car was originally designed and built by Carroll Shelby as a Junior class car, for drivers aiming for high profile single-seater racing such as IRL. In South Africa these cars are run in the fastest single-seater class. In 2008 they got a new locally developed and manufactured lightweight fiberglass body and Nissan 3.5 liter V6 engines

This mod is something special insofar as we got the real series' drivers and maintainers interested to get this mod done:

- we got 3D data from the real car's designer
- we got consulting and testing support from the real life series' 2009 champion

The Fanatec Porsche 911 Turbo S Wheel and Clubsport Pedals
by "Chunx"

After writing the review of Fanatec’s Porsche 911 Turbo S Wheel (PWTS) and Clubsport Pedals (CSP), I thought it might be a good idea to offer my own personal tweaks and settings for this high-fidelity sim racing controller. As the physics and controller laws vary from one racing sim title to another, so too do the tweaks and settings for the controller being used.

  American Rally Team Forming [17-02-2010 | DH | Comments (2) ]
A group of North American Based Sim Racers enjoying the Richard Burns Rally Simulation with RSRBR 2010 are forming a Team/Stable to compete in the Official Rally Events hosted by RallyeSim.Com. We are looking to add Rally Drivers from North America; including Canada, USA and Mexico that might be interested in joining our cause. Our team is called the "Press on Regardless" Rally Team, with our team motto based on the historic 1972 accomplishments of Gene Henderson and co-driver Ken Pogue; when they surprised the world by winning the F.I.A.-sanctioned Press On Regardless rally in 1972 against European factory teams.

We are doing this in the spirit of fun. Nobody is taking ourselves too seriously, its all about enjoying a great PC Rally Sim in Richard Burns that has been modded to a great state with the RSR2010 mod.

To join our team and participate with us as we Rally simply visit our team forum and website; which is kindly hosted by Champion Motorsrports at https://www.cmsracing.com. Upon registering at the website simply post in the new member area that you are interested in rallying with us.

  NORL to open 1st NR2003 series [27-01-2010 | DH | Comments (0) ]
As most are aware, NORL has the only remaining NASCAR Racing 4 Series'. Well Come February 6th, 2010 we will look to start our first ever NASCAR Racing 2003 Season Series. We have been contemplating this move for the last few months and we wanted to make sure the time is right. I'd like to put an end to all rumors and the fears of some people by saying that this is in no way an intention to move people away from NASCAR Racing 4. If you have any questions at all about this feel free to private message me on this site or just ask me in the shout box. I want to go over all the details with you all so you can be aware of what's ahead. This new league will be known as the N.O.R.L. Hefty Series. We are going to have a short exhibition season that will consist of ten races. Each race will be run on Saturday night and the server will be locked at 9:00. These events will be thirty percent races excluding special events. Cautions will be on, damage will be set to moderate and we will have the lucky dog available. This League will run Project Wildfire's GNS Mod, which is available in our downloads. The field will be set to fifteen starters. Any starting spots left vacant will be filled by an AI car. Please note that you need to E-mail your cars to norlad4@gmail.com if you want to race. We invite everyone to come and join us as we cut the red ribbon and open up the first ever N.O.R.L. NASCAR Racing 2003 Series!

  Race2Play celebrates 3rd year [15-01-2010 | DH | Comments (0) ]
Race2Play celebrates third anniversary

Following an invitation-only beta period that included a few hundred drivers in late 2006, Race2Play opened its doors to the public three years ago on Jan. 15, 2007, launching a new era in multiplayer online racing. More than 4,400 events, 2 million laps and 4.6 million miles later, a worldwide community of some 16,000 drivers from 80+ countries is carrying Race2Play into its fourth year and onward.

With more than 850 cars and tracks for racing and 100+ series per season at Race2Play, no other organization presents the scope of choice and quality of competition. Race2Play is the No. 1 and first-ever such online organization to achieve the sanctioning recognition of an actual racing body, the National Auto Sport Association.

Driven by Race2Play's growth and success, planned expansions and upgrades of the service and proprietary website are on schedule for 2010.
