Do I have to get further through the game to get a choice of tires? Its too friggen hard. I may never get anywhere. Love it though. I guess I am a guy who needs cheats. Too old to be doing video gaming for the very first time:47. Got GPL in November 2005 and I am hooked on Sim Racing....not good at it but hooked.
If you play in Championship mode you have to buy any parts prior to use them on your car. So....as soon as you enter the championship mode go to garage from the menu and then click at "Parts". Buy anything you want from here (cheap tires costs 300 euro each set) then go back and choose "Car Setup". You will find them there ready to install to your car.
Also, as you advance, better quality tyres are made available to you. These better tyres are identified with stars. The more stars, the better quality..
The game gets far better and not as daunting once you start driving the 4WD cars.
And it's never too late to get into gaming, although younger ones do seem to come Plug-n-Play, if you get my meaning.

I looked more carefully and discovered that indeed you can BUY better tires. Still pretty hard game although I did win the first stage and get 2nd in the next two. Lots of 'Try Again's though
