The Nastrack 2009 Season plans are set! Nastrack administration voted unanimously to run NASCAR Sim Racing for the 2009 season. Our 2009 season features a new split season format with a few exciting new twists! The season will be split into 2 - 15 Race schedules. The season schedules will be selected at random and announced at a later date. Registrations are underway and should be submitted using our registration page link. Do you not have the time or know how to setup a car or the time to find the right line on a track? Well you wont have to worry about that anymore. I have created a NSR Guide that will explain in detail how to drive every track on the NEXTEL Cup schedule with my Fast setups. You wont have to worry about not being competitive again, you'll be able to jump in a race and know you'll be up there at the end. When it comes to the racing, expect to have a pretty powerful PC to run with a lot of cars visible onscreen and all the graphics turned on. The game is nicely customizable this way, as all simulations seem to be these days. That's good because framerate is always a key to good performance as is having an analog steering device of some kind as well as analog gas and brake pedals.

A hop over to sim racing fan sites and one finds out that simmers are not only die-hards, but they are hard-liners as well. They aren�t about graphics, but instead realism and overall gameplay. Most of the guys over there seem moderately happy with this title, and I can see why.

With NASCAR SimRacing, EA has finally gotten it right. In fact, they have gotten it more right than Papyrus ever did. Before you go throwing yourselves off bridges and claiming the end times have truly come, it's important to note that many of the people who worked on the awesome Papyrus sims are now working at EA's Tiburon studios, where this little gem was created.

Rather than a NASCAR Thunder 2005 release, EA brings us SimRacing, a game focusing on simulation while still maintaining a fun and approachable feel for arcade-racing fans. It's a delicate balance for any developer but EA does a respectable job combing the too into what should be a crowd pleaser for sim freaks, and a refreshing challenge for arcade racers.

An owner/driver has even more to be concerned about since he will be managing the ongoing research & design work during the season, dealing with current and potential sponsors, and deciding what types of merchandising and endorsement deals will generate the funds needed to get through a long, hard race season. And, of course, there are the inevitable repair costs after each race which will draw big bucks from a limited budget. In any given race, an owner/driver faces the possibility of a complete loss of a car.
