Thats a lot of fixes for things that should have been blindingly obvious, did they even test it? Seems like the original must have been a joke. |

nag nag nag....
finally a patch is here, and first comment is that above! all games today needs patches, and the community has been screaming for this patch since the birth of the game. Please appriciate that its here instaed of this childish view.
Long live patches, back in time a game was a game, and that was it, if there was flaws (and there was) it was to bad - live with it brother. Today we have patches, and Im glad we have.

Yes but they are normally to fix hard to test hardware issues or to allow mods, not to allow you to pace without getting dq.

(Sorry. I really have no business being here (because I don't even own the game)...but I just couldn't pass that one up.

ajp's comment is completely valid. They took an extra year out of the delivery cycle to polish what is obviously just a rehashed NT2004. (By the way, if you put NT2004 on your machine, you'll realise that all the naysayers on here were full of it...wrote it off because of the appalling NT2003...it was pretty good physics and is only half a step behind NSR in that regard). The biggest weakness of NT2004 (released how long ago??) was the ridiculous rules and flags bugs and errors. The fact that NSR was rush released with most of those same errors suggests that not a hell of lot was done between the release of the two titles.
Yes, it is great that the patch that was supposed to come out in early February coincident with the release of the game is now finally here in mid-April. Yes, it is great that EA actually bothered with a patch. But we now just have what we we were supposed to have when we bought the game--a known flawed version in need of patching, but at least one that didn't have huge glaring problems that suggested a complete lack of testing (or, if the problems were known, a complete lack of resources to fix them and a single priority to have the game on the shelves for Daytona regardless of quality or readiness).
How long do you think it's going to take to get the patches that should have been being worked on since before the release? This is now on a Papy-like patching process where the last patch will come out a couple of months before the release of next year's version.
Sorry, but if I saw a football game (even knowing next to nothing about the sport) with a very long list of glaringly obvious rules and gameplay fixes like that, I would rightly conclude that it was an untested cock-up. |

well back in those days, companies had to actually finish the game before they sold it to people, because they couldn't fall back on patches. and i'm not ripping on EA specifically here, its just the industry standard now that companies release something that may or may not be finished, because they can always patch it later.

the patch worthless. it didnt fix the desktop crashing at the end of a season race. Also the patch adds 4 pace cars in the fricken race field DURING THE RACE!!!!!!! Idiots. Great job EA. By the time they release a patch to fix MY problems the next release will be just days away. |

If you increase the size of your fonts you can make the list of bug fixes as long as your arm. By the way is this not the second patch to come out with such a long list of fixes..? I took heat from people when I said this game was crap. This list along with the other long list proves it. EA SUCKS!!!
