Demo Tweaks

Here are some tips/optimizations for the Nascar SimRacing Demo:

1) Go to your NSR Directory / enter the movies subdirectory and rename EAS.BIK to EASS.bik
this prevents the EA Sports Movie in the beginning from starting.

2) Go to the Gamedata Subdirectory and Open "2005 Nextel Cup.gdb"

Look for this line:
RunWarmupSession = 0 // don't run happy hour for the 2005 season

Replace the 0 with a 1, Save it and now you have happy hour!

3) Go to GameDataTracksIndianapolis2005-Brickyard400

Look for "Attrition = 23" Change it to 6-10, this will be how many cars will fall out...EA has half the field falling out...

4) Go to your "GameDataVehicles" Subdirectory and open up the "Enginerestricted.ini" file
Look for "OnboardStarter=1" Change it to 0 if you want the vehicle to start when stalled...if you want it like how it used to be keep it at 1

5) Tired of being reminded it's the demo? Go to your "C:Program FilesEA SPORTSNASCAR SimRacing DemoOptions" subdirectory, once there rename your gametitle.jpeg to oldgametitle.jpeg and creat a copy of your load.jpeg and rename the copy gametitle.jpeg. Poof the DEMO word is gone!

Player Profile Tweaks:

6) Vehicle Removal="0.0" (removes "cinema mode"; car remains on the track after a bad wreck or a race until you tell it to get off [esc])

7) Engine Emitter Flow="0" (engine flames and smoke engulf the car instead of floating over it)

8) Super Player Replay="1" (record player at higher frequency)

9) Debris Removal="seconds"
Parts Duration="seconds"
Adjust up or down to increase or decrease the time parts are on the track

10) Crash Recovery="0" (Artificially keep cars on track or flip cars upright)

11) No AI Control="1"

----------

12) Game FolderSaveYour Drivers Name Folderyour drivers name.plr
Rearview Width="62.50000"
Rearview Height="19.50000" allows you to see the entire mirror with the incar.

----------

Here are a couple things for the 2005_NEXTEL_Cup.hdv file:
13) AllowManualOverride=1 // whether to allow manual shift overrides when using auto shifting

14) SemiAutomatic=1 // whether throttle and clutch are operated automatically (like an F1 car)

15) UpshiftClutchTime=0.0 // time to ease auto-clutch in AFTER upshift (speed-shifting with auto-clutch turned on)

16) DiffPreloadRange=(99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999,0,1) // locked rear differential (lower numbers will let you tune the L/R slippage)

----------

Different Mirror Styles:
You can make it any other size you wish, just keep these two things in mind:
To get the correct aspect ratio, the width must be 4.3977272727272727272727272727273 times the height.
To have it horizontally centered, subtract the width from one and divide that by two.

17) External view mirror fix:
In the player PLR file, you need to edit these four lines:
Rearview X="0.30000" // X position of rearview (0.0 - 1.0)
Rearview Y="0.00000" // Y position of rearview (0.0 - 1.0)
Rearview W="0.40000" // Width of rearview (0.0 - 1.0)
Rearview H="0.15000" // Height of rearview (0.0 - 1.0)

18) NR2003-like mirror in NSR:
Rearview X="0.31103515625" // X position of rearview (0.0 - 1.0)
Rearview Y="0.067708333333333333333333333333333" // Y position of rearview (0.0 - 1.0)
Rearview W="0.3779296875" // Width of rearview (0.0 - 1.0)
Rearview H="0.0859375" // Height of rearview (0.0 - 1.0)

19) NSR mirror height with corrected width:
Rearview X="0.1701704545454545454545454545455" // X position of rearview (0.0 - 1.0)
Rearview Y="0.00000" // Y position of rearview (0.0 - 1.0)
Rearview W="0.65965909090909090909090909090909" // Width of rearview (0.0 - 1.0)
Rearview H="0.15000" // Height of rearview (0.0 - 1.0)

20) NSR mirror width with corrected height:
Rearview X="0.30000" // X position of rearview (0.0 - 1.0)
Rearview Y="0.00000" // Y position of rearview (0.0 - 1.0)
Rearview W="0.40000" // Width of rearview (0.0 - 1.0)
Rearview H="0.090956072351421188630490956072357" // Height of rearview (0.0 - 1.0)

21) Full-screen width mirror at top of screen:
Rearview X="0.0000" // X position of rearview (0.0 - 1.0)
Rearview Y="0.00000" // Y position of rearview (0.0 - 1.0)
Rearview W="1" // Width of rearview (0.0 - 1.0)
Rearview H="0.22739018087855297157622739018089" // Height of rearview (0.0 - 1.0)

----------

Race the Pace Car:
22) Use these under the Driver heading in your player file:
Vehicle File="GAMEDATAVEHICLES2005 NEXTEL CUPPaceCarPacecar.VEH"
Vehicle File Per Series="2005 NEXTEL Cup,GAMEDATAVEHICLES2005 NEXTEL CUPPaceCarPacecar,0"

----------

This is the fix for anybody having the height problem and a little wider tire stance. Theres also another Gen file for a little better looking tires, just unzip into vehicle file.
