Evolution GT Preview at Gamezone [25-06-2006 | JZ | Comments (0) ]
Though the sampled version only contains a few of the 35 cars to drive, it is enough to give you an idea of what to expect. From the Audi, Renault and SEAT Leon racers, I stuck mostly with the Renault. My sister had one in the 80s (no, not a racer, but a sedan!), so I had to stick with something I knew. The city course was very tricky to learn.

Evolution GT Review at Eurogamer [03-05-2006 | JZ | Comments (3) ]
Tarquini introduces the special features which define Evolution GT's numerous failings. The first of these is 'intimidation', which is implemented via a small slider bar attached to the cars of your opponents. Put the pressure on them by keeping close and their nerve will eventually fail, allowing you to overtake with ease. And hey, as I type I realise that this sounds okay in theory, but the implementation in the game itself is impossibly nave.

Evolution GT Preview at Pro-G [01-03-2006 | JZ | Comments (1) ]
When playing Evolution GT, the first thing to strike you is that it's very good looking, for a PS2 game. Real-time shadows, specular effects, reflections from water-coated road surfaces and nicely detailed environment textures all add to the atmosphere, and despite the eye candy, the frame rate is nice and healthy, even in split-screen multiplayer - no slideshows here. The second thing that strikes you is just how good the handling model is.

Evolution GT Announced [14-11-2005 | JZ | Comments (0) ]
The Evolution GT Announcement reveals plans for an upcoming racing simulation from Black Bean Games. Here's a bit on the game, which is due for release in Europe in March 2006:
Evolution GT is a racing game that gives the player the opportunity to experience the life of a real racing driver, and the evolution of his alter ego throughout the course of his career.
By choosing appropriate race tactics and driving styles, and placing well in the races, the player will grow in his ability to compete at an ever-higher level, gaining access to new racing cars as well as roadsters, coupes and eventually dream cars such as the BUGATTI EB110 and the PAGANI ZONDA.
Races take place across Europe; from the beautiful landscapes of the Scottish Highlands and the Cote d'Azur to the monumental wonders of London and Barcelona, without missing out on famous racing venues such as Laguna Seca or Hockenheim.
Realism is guaranteed by an extremely accurate physics model, and the most advanced AI ever seen in a racing simulation game.
Driver experience and improvement means that the player will feel the tension and emotions that only a real race can offer; fighting for a podium finish and accumulating race experience.
