Hi guys,
Recently I'm having sound problems with the Impreza95. When watching the replay, first the sound is good but a few seconds later, the engine sounds very far away (muffled or absent) when the car comes towards the camera, and after it passes the camera the sound is correct again. This keeps going on and on.
It started 2 weeks ago (don't know if I changed something that causes this) but because I ordered a new system I let it go. But now on my new system (Vista) I'm having the same problem!
Could it be speaker related (still the same ones as before) or is there something in the settings / files that causes this??
Many thanks for your answer in advance.
Regards,
Dave |

If you change your Windows speakers setting from a 2 speaker/Headphone setting to a 5-1 speaker system and you don't have 5-1 speakers, then some of the sound will disappear in replay and in game.
Other things to check:
Have you installed a new audio mod?
Audio mods can change your replay sound in two ways.
We can modify the range of witch we hear different sound effects in replays. The file is called "Ingame.ini file, and can be found in "RBR\Audio"
"Audio.ini" found in your RBR main folder is often changed by mods.
backup the one your using and try the original file. ( I'll include it in my reply )
You say its only one car that has this problem?
Well if this is true then I can only think of two things.
1. RSRBR allows for unique sound sets for each car in RBR.
The sound set for the Impreza95 is bad and your, i guess, onboard sound card can't handle the extra load.
2. With normal audio moding in RBR we can only have a few sounds unique for each car. The Engine file and a few more like exhaust pops and bangs. If some or all of these audio effect files are made longer than the originals, they can have a bad effect on the overall performance of your sound card.
Good luck

Thanks 2re!
Probably an audio file that caused the problem.
BTW I don't know if other cars had the same problem since I only play with the gc8 |

Do you have a (motherboard) onboard sound card.
If so. I had some complaints after one of my early sound mods that sound would disappear etc.
Not saying that's the cause of your problem, like i said, it just could be.
This was caused by 2-3 backfire sounds that I had made slightly longer.
What happens is that a new effect is started and overlapping the one running.
With dedicated sound cards, it's not a problem but for some onboard cards it was a little to much.
I think most people who experienced it could have fixed it by updating their sound card drivers.
Here's a clip where you can hear the longer backfires.

If you do have an onboard sound card Buy a dedicated sound card ASAP
