I want to start making different kinds of objects with 3dsmax, first making some kind of a car. But at the moment I have a pretty simple problem; HOW DO I DO GUIDELINES? A tutorial I'm using says, that you should create some lines that'll help you get it look right, but I'm kind of stuck in that simple step. I can do pretty much every other step after that, but my cars end up looking a bit weird without those guidelines.

Did you try to do a help/search in Max itself?

Yes, and I also google'd for quite some time. After a few hours, I figured it out myself however.

after long searching finaly i have finded... I somebody interested - here is the tip
Code: |
Dont weld them until right at the very end of the modelling stage. This will ensure it remains mirrored. Otherwise when you make changes on 1 side it wont update on the other.
Here is how to weld them (once finished all modelling):
Delete the mirrored side. Make a new mirror (this time make it a Copy not an instance or reference). Select your original side. Click 'Attach' and then click the mirrored side. This will make it one object. Now you can weld vertices.
The reason you cant weld them now is because they are two seperate objects and you cannot weld vertices from different objects |
