Dev FAQ

as seen in other threads questions get a bit complex recently and noone seems to know if these have been answered yetby the RBR developers, if they aren't allowed to answer them or if they just don't want to at the moment. so my idea of this thread was to post your question/s right in here in a standardised format to clean the forum up a bit of "devs please answer this"-threads.
so feel free to ask the responsable persons right in here if you want to know something special or just a general question. also don't forget to start a new thread when you want to talk about something more detailed - so this thread will stay clean.
btw, if this thread becomes more popular a sticky would be quite helpful to look up something in the future. let's see if it works...

Rules :
How to post a Question?
Q: [question]
How to post an Answer?
Q: [question]
A: [answer]

Example:
Q: Will it be possible to save replays and export them?
A: Yes, you can save the replays and post them on the net if you like.

Dev FAQ - Q&As

Q: What is the current official release date of RBR for PC and the consoles?
A: According to SCi's distributor 2nd July, this was updated last Friday. https://www.pinnacle-software.co.uk/titles/titles.php
-Max Damage

Q: How many setup options will there be?
A: Lots! I haven't touched the majority of them and most people never will.
But it's nice that they are in there.
-Bilbana

Q: Can you list some of the setup options not usually seen in mainstream rallygames?
A: I haven't seen any of them in other rally games except perhaps gear ratio. The only one I personally use is the "Max front Diff Torque" in the Diffrential torque menu, to get less oversteer on the tarmac stages.
-Bilbana

Q: Driving in RBR will be sim as we have heard, but how close will the driving be to the real thing?
A: I don't know, I haven't driven a real rally car, but it feels quite realistic to me. Compared to other sims I think it's right up there with the best.
-Bilbana

Q: Will there be support for multiple controllers?
A: Don't worry, multiple controllers are supported.
-Fozz

I thought this would be only a 1 post thread... when someone posts a Q, it gets added to the 1st post and his post is deleted. When a dev posts an answer, it is added under the question in 1st post and his post gets deleted.

thought this should be added,
from https://bhms.racesimcentral.net/board/viewtopic.php?p=93319#93319

Q: What's with that silly red respawn and automatic respawning, that sucks!

Dev Answer(from above referenced thread) "CamFly": a.) 'respawning' is a manual thing. No 'whoa, I'm back on the track' stuff. It will be something you have you trigger by pressing a 'reset' button.

b.) It will be impossible to respawn until the car has stopped moving.

c.) There will be a significant time penalty for respawning. Depending on the severity of the incident, anywhere from 30 seconds to 3-5 minutes.

d.) The time penalty will also have to be applied to the AI drivers for the sake of consistency.

Quote:
CamFly: Then you are in luck. That is how it works in the final game

Very Happy

Q: Will the huge amount of setup options include seat position so that internal view can be adjusted?

ps: I also think this thread would work better if Animal Chin edits his first post with all questions and official answers. This would allow the devs to post back freely in here without having to pose a question and people wouldn't have to scroll through the pages of this thread (as it gets longer) in order to see if a questions had been asked.

well, i've already thought of that before and - actually that was my original idea but it's just not possible because i don't own a moderator status. therefor it's not possible for me to edit/delete other posts.
sorry for the offtopic guys but i just had to comment on that.

i think he meant the issue discussed in the PCMagScan-thread. he probably meant that it would be better to adjust the virtual steering-wheel and the dashboard yourself. fozz has already said something about this imo. i remember him telling us that the dashboard is definately adjustable in the final version.
