Hi!

I have a 16:9 widescreen. I need a solution to get the right aspect ratio. works fine running in 1360x768.

I tried Camera Hack V3 it lets you adjust it but there dont seem to be any presets for 16:9 monitors. Kind of a hazzle trying to guess when you have the right aspect ratio and adjust fov each time Smile

Yiiiha.. Got my Samsung m86 40inch LCD TV yesterday.
Works great with PC.. Perfect and HUUGE screen to play games on.
Haven't tried it with RBR yet, but I will very soon Mr. Green

I think you could simply enter the screen width you want in the RichardBurnsrally.ini file.

Full HD screen res
XRes = 1920
YRes = 1080

But perhaps you're thinking of something else?

i just zoomed out so i could see the steering wheel, then held a cup up to the screen and adjusted the ratios until the steering wheel was actually a circle. not the most scientific method...but it works for me.

I understand the meaning of aspect ratio now Embarassed
I used the camhack tool and it works but I'd be more happy if I could just save it as default without the need to load Camhack every time.

Anyone else having sound problems?
I can't watch a replay without loosing much of the sound in game when I have Camhack On.

since sound is 3d it depends on camera position, probably "force in car sound" is what you want, see the options menu

Thanks for the tip Black f
I've tried forcing in car sound on off Sad

Hmm probably needs to force it On.. Exit the game and then start Cam tool.
If that doesn't work i'll try to change the cam posistion before I exit to menu and select replay.

It used to work Ok so its something i've changed Confused

Thanks Smile

back to topic,

i'v got 1280x800 monitor so i want RBR to run it but the problem occours, no text at all.
And AR is totally wrong, so is there any solution without using camhack tool?There must be some ini or cfg file wich is being used by camhack, so if we managed to configure that fuile manually and save it it should be working isn't it?Frank i am looking your way.Is there some file?

aspect ratio is simple,

1600x1200 = 1600/1200 = 1.333333333

the camhack ini is called config.ini

the line you want to change is
1280x800:
FOVX= 1280/800 = 1.6
OR
FOVY= 800/1280 = .625

whichever one you change, leave the other as 1

as for the missing text,

These are the text files,
C:\Program Files\SCi Games\Richard Burns Rally\Generic

1080p uses the pc1280 files - 720p [1280x720] won't, perhaps the game is looking at the y value and thinks its too small for those files? dunno.

"There must be some ini or cfg file wich is being used by camhack"

ah woops - you meant some default file from rbr .. havn't found that or any hint of it ..

think camhack is a bit deeper down in what its playing with .. directx output perhaps? something between the game and the screen =) thats all i can guess...
