Very nice post, thanks for taking the time.

Other Features

- Dynamic surface - "Early racers will clean the course of any surface debris making it easier for the drivers later in the day.". Different surfaces will wear at different rates.
.
- Animal life that can damage your car (birds, kangaroos, deer, warthogs).

These points I would question. I have never noticed any difference in the surfaces no matter who goes before me- but maybe I just didn't notice it?? I think maybe that didn't make the final game but would have been really cool

Animals never damage my car, I have hit plenty of them and never made a dent, I pass right through them like they weren't there. Same with the photographers that are in the road- if you go fast enough you can hit them while they are running out of the way- bit the pass right through the car..

Play championship - when you drive as 8th driver on a track, you can notice that the surface is swept of the gravel more than normally (new/normal/worn directories in texture files). Anyone noticed when this effect turns on? (I mean 2nd driver, 3rd driver, 4th? ... Confused ). Also, when we play Quick Stage, I guess that it's the un-worn surface, am I correct? Neutral

Yeah man, it would be cool to get that hooked up in RBR somehow- First place guy needs to plow through dirt on road, last guy gets a cleaner surface.. now that would be a cool option! Probably almost impossible and impracticable.

Ekhm, it actually WORKS in rbr! Smile I wanted to tell you this Laughing Let me say again - play championship and try to drive as first driver (start order) and after achieving some good results, drive as 8th one in starting order - there IS a difference (USA shows it clearly - different grip and surface look)

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Wow that is really cool... Also when going through in first place all the time, maybe that's why it was so difficult.. (if I am not first I always restarted)

It's like in real championship - current ranking leader starts as first. He sweeps the road, then the rest follows. In the end of first day the starting order is ranking but reversed. So if he remains first the next day he goes as 15th for instance and can crush the rest to the end. These guys who had worse results start first and they sweep the road. Cool Smile

Well I'll be damned - I never noticed that! Gotta check it out Eh?

Wouldn't it be great if that function could be called for online races Dancing

Yeah in that post I meant RBNET - lol.. I was thinking the same thing!! That would really ad a very cool and realistic aspect to online play!

I am always happy to update the FAQ. Smile Most of it was written prior to the game being released so if anyone spots something that is no longer current, please let me know and I will update it.

I've had bird strikes break my windscreen but I've not hit any other animal either. Has anyone been able to hit anything besides a bird?

As for the marshalls, I can pass through them when going very fast and they are on road, but every time they are off road and I hit them I am penailsed.

Since there's a common misconception that RBR is a WRC sim perhaps you could include a point about the events being driven in RBR and their real life counterparts.

Yup the birds hit the windsheild for sure-

I was messing around in JAP 3 the other day and actually passed through a couple marshals on the left that were standing there- that is the only time it happened though.. Maybe I can make an AVI or a replay of it.
