World Racing 2 Review at Gamespot [20-09-2006 | JZ | Comments (0) ]
World Racing 2 is the sequel to the poorly received World Racing (also known as Mercedes-Benz World Racing), which was released in 2003. Bland visuals, run-of-the-mill gameplay, a restrictive car license, and a poor sense of speed were just a few of the original game's many problems. The changes made in World Racing 2 demonstrate that the developers were aware of the criticism that the first game received, but many key issues have gone untouched, and none of the changes make the game more enjoyable.

World Racing 2 Review at Worthplaying [18-06-2006 | JZ | Comments (0) ]
The first major gameplay issue is going to turn off many a player. You know all of those items that are advertised on the back? You don't get any of them right off the bat. You don't get a choice of cars, vinyls whatsoever, nothing. "Oh well, I'll just do a few free rides to learn the game before I get going on unlocking stuff," you might say.

World Racing 2 Review at Game Shark [24-03-2006 | JZ | Comments (0) ]
The career mode in World Racing 2 is comprised of over 120 missions. Missions are unlocked one at a time, by simply winning the previous mission. As a reward for completing them, you are given speedbucks, which are used as currency to buy new cars, customize cars that you already have, and to buy new tracks. The types of missions include traditional racing, knockout racing, where the car in last place after every lap gets knocked out of the race, timed races, and checkpoint racing.

World Racing 2 Review at Gamezone [02-12-2005 | JZ | Comments (0) ]
Ok, so World Racing 2 has some repetitive moments, but this is a game that while seeming short, or just fast paced lets gamers have fun with a wide range of cars over some very nice graphical areas. It is not a particularly deep game, but it is quite entertaining.

World Racing 2 Review at GamersHell [14-11-2005 | JZ | Comments (1) ]
It is safe to say that Mercedes-Benz World Racing wasnt a particularly big success on either the console or PC formats, mainly because of the poor graphics, sound, and presentation. With World Racing 2, developers Synetic strive to eliminate all the flaws of the first game and create the racing experience that Mercedes-Benz World Racing should have been. More cars have been included, the graphics have been upgraded, the soundtrack has been revised, car customization has been added, and a more extensive career mode has been implemented as well.

World Racing 2 Review at CVG [11-11-2005 | JZ | Comments (0) ]
No, it's not the most realistic driving model ever seen and it won't give other racers any sleepless nights in terms of car handling technology, but it still manages to provide enough variety of car styles to keep things interesting as you progress.

World Racing 2 Demo Impressions at CG [29-09-2005 | JZ | Comments (2) ]
First off, the game looks pretty good. The cars themselves are fairly detailed and have that glossy, reflective look that you expect from a game like this. Environments are also pretty well done, especially in the one Touareg level where players will be racing on and off road in an attempt to get through checkpoints in a certain amount of time. Not only that, but it seems the game can successfully scale itself down for your system configuration without taking too much of a sacrifice in detail.

World Racing 2 Preview at IGN [02-09-2005 | JZ | Comments (4) ]
World Racing 2 features a lineup of authentic vintage, current, and concept car models from companies like Mercedes and Volkswagen. Every car model is available in a rainbow of colors and while each model is coated in the by now familiar Xbox metallic sheen, they look pretty nonetheless. The best part, however, is that each car model is fully destructible.
