not bad.. had about 2 hours of driving and I have to say I cant wait for the full version.
I can tell you that this demo does use Starforce3, so upon 1st time running it you will have to restart.
I love the new nitrous and dirt feature, there is now a carwash to clean the dirt and gas station where you get repairs and more nitro in Joyride mode.
Tires now blowout and the damage modeling is very realistic.. sounds havent changed much but they do sound a little better. Ai is pretty good and they are very competitive. I haven't tried a steering wheel yet so I cant tell you about the force feedback, but its probably the same as WR1.
Seems there is no cockpit view, would be a shame if the full version doesnt have it either.
Definately worth checking out.. looking forward to the full version of this game.

I don't know why such an arcady game is polluting the pages of BHMotorsports? The physics are unrealistic at best...couldn't get into it. Graphics are pretty nice though. Could be a fun game for the casual gamer...doesn't do much for me though.

come on guys! this game is... really bad! graphics is okay, but car modeling is awful. downright ugly cars. Handling is nonexisting (at least simmishly spoken). The demo went in and out of my harddrive faster than a Ferrari on nitro.
well back to RFactor!

I was looking forward to this but it's not receiving much love - not that I care, if starforce is involved my interest dies anyway... |

There's no cockpit in the full game - the devs said that it was sacrificed because they didn't have time to 'do everything' - ie because they put a proper damage model in.
I don't think it's supposed to be a 'sim' as such. It can't be more 'arcade' than RD2 though (I haven't tried it yet though)

Not bad, for arcade that is. This game doesnt even try to be a sim so I find no reason to bash it for the lack of realism.
Joyride is neat and the damage model impressive. The cars do however take some serious punishment before quitting. Damage also seems progressive. I managed to burn out the engine using nitro until it overheated and later on exploded The real-time deformation is also neat. I would like to see a similar damage model in a good sim but multiplied x10 to make it realistic. |

I haven't tried the demo yet....but no virtual cockpits this time? Are they nuts? That's called a downgrade. Didn't have the time to model the cockpits? Sounds like they are developing more for the XBox and the holiday buying orgee than anything else.
I didn't like the yo-gang-banger underground leanings and music featured in the gameplay movies. But this no time to do cockpits stuff puts the title in the no sale catagory for me. I don't have the time to go to the store to by your game this time Synetic. |

When I pressed them about it on the official forum some time back, they got a bit touchy - saying that there was too many cars to do the cockpits for, and with the other stuff, they didn't have time.
I pointed out that they could do an RBR type cockpit that wouldn't have needed dials and stuff, but they didn't respond.
Apparently it's possible to make cockpits for add-on cars, but like several others, I'm not bothering if there's no cockpit. For me, it's just important.

OMG.... I installed the demo....configured game controllers etc.....followed the Ai around a few corners flipping through the driving views....OMG couldn't take it......Quit demo and uninstalled.....all within about four minutes.
Reminds me of Ford Racing 3 demo and Hot Chix with Gear Stix demos .
This game has NOTHING going for it. It's a GIANT leap backwards in what once was a very respectable franchise name. Made by German lads...for German lads. That's about it. Should sell for $19.95 at release. |

mixed feelings...
in the first impression (racing with the old Golfs) the game is absolutly arcade, but after complete some events you can purchase, for example, a golf r32, disable all the driving AIDs (in options) and turn the simulation settings to the maximum (in options also), and make a free ride. There you can make some testings, and figure that the game has some simulation elements, combined with some NFS stuff (remember me a lot of Porsche Unleashed and Nfs 3:Hot Pursuit). the traffic ai also is a very good addon.
i agree that is a shame that there is no cockpit, even no incar view like RBR (with no dials or details), but i hope the community could fix that. i agree too that the physics could be more realistic, but maybe synectic doesnt want to make a sim right now.
anyway, im very calm because rfactor rlz! jeje

Basically, if you liked the original you'll like this. The handlings a bit arcadey but its good fun - I'll be buying it when it comes out. Theres no way you can call this game crap as other people have done - if you dont like the genre then dont comment at all - compared with other arcade racers, this is great stuff - reminds me a bit of the old need for speed days. |
