Description: |
I have tried to apply these sound files in an order to that which I hear from the television in-car and roof cameras for rpm's that are heard most of the time. These include the high-end rpm's for the super-speedways and the regular high end acceleration and deceleration rpm's for the other non-restricted tracks.
These sounds are what I use in the game and are basically a compilation of several sound packs that I have heard over the years for N2003 and more recently, NSR. They sound good to my ears as the motor comes up through the rpm's for both the restrictor plate speedways and the non- restrictor plate speedways, but others may disagree. The only file I would like to change would be the "HIGH_OFF_INT" as heard on the non-restrictor tracks. I would like to see that particular file be modified with slightly more bass tone so as to differentiate between the "HIGH_ON_INT" sound which has been used for both on and off throttle sounds. Again, this is just my perception.
I tried to retain the AI vehicle sound values like Cage_Rattler attempted so that the PLAYER vehicle is a tad easier to hear over the computer or online opponent cars.
None of these sounds were created by myself so I take no credit for anything other than the order in which I placed them in the audio file for NSR.
I would like to credit using some of the super-speedway sounds from "Nick Winters" and also "Cage_rattler" from files that I found on both Black Hole Motorsports and CGW's site.
Installation:
Place the sound files in the appropriate duplicate folder AFTER renaming the original. I named mine "vehicles.old", then simply overwrote the originals in the new "vehicles" folder.
Thanks for trying this sound enhancement pack out. I really think some people will like the sounds, especially in a group of cars, and especially at Talladega and Daytona.
E-mail me at tsunami22@comcast.net if you would like.
I don't plan to create any original sound files since I don't have the time or the programming skill.
Enjoy.

We here at Team Blackhole Motorsports need your help. As you all know, the team puts in a great deal of effort to provide you with the latest news and downloads from the sim racing world. However, all of this hardwork comes at a steep cost. Until now we have been able to maintain ourselves but recent site popularity is making this more and more difficult. Last month alone we transferred over 1.3TBs (thats 1,300GBs) of data. The cost to provide that much bandwidth is expensive and we need your help to keep us going. We are kindly asking our patrons to use the PayPal donate button to make donations. The PayPal donation is a secure and easy way to send your donations directly to Team Blackhole Motorsports. Please help us by contributing a donation so we can continue to provide you with the latest news and downloads from the sim world. |

Sounds are a personal preference. If you like them, tell me, if you don't like them, tell me nicely ...hehe. I also want to give credit to Methyl Ethyl who actually originated some of these sounds. Enjoy! |
