I found this on the net quite a while ago but just got around to trying it and I can verify that this actually works (With the north american version anyway). What I did was disable ide cable 2 in my system bios to disable my dvd rw and dvd rom drives, then mount the mini image on a virtual drive withe Daemon tools. This also includes daemon tools and a serial number, but may work with your original serial (never tried it ). It is a pain in the ass to have to disable drives but, the Disc check using this method only takes a fraction of the normal time.
