It's an issue with the wire-frame. I found that decreasing the space between the way-points helps to fix the issue. In the image I included, there are two lines. The red line indicates the track geometry. The blue line indicates the way-point path. Notice where they intersect. That's what's causing your groove problem.

thanks for the info. i kind of figured that out. so what i ended up doing was in the .plr file i increased the overlay height. now i'll just have to see if that causes any problems on other tracks. if it does, hopefully i can find a happy medium. thanks again
