Both my brother and I have fresh installs of GTL.

Both of us have no problems joining games on the lobby except for each others.

When he attempts to join my game the join button greys out for a few seconds and nothing happens. For me attempting to join him the same thing occurs.

It clearly isn't a firewall problem or an issue of different versions of GTL. We do have different versions of Starforce.

Also when I run the dedicated server, I can see my own game, but I cannot join it.

Could anyone say where we are going wrong?

Because you can JOIN a game does NOT mean you can HOST a game.. Double check all firewall settings, and if you are using a router, make sure the appropriate ports are set properly for port forwarding..
