It's official now, no backing out, full speed ahead!!

I just got done posting on rfactor central, and it should be up soon for viewing and bookmarking, in the WIP section.

Already started on the conversions (of graphics). Everything should go very smooth until the actual conversions of the physics, that is the point I will actually have to pay attention to what I am doing Smile Anyway, she has started Smile

Nathan, I have an rFm file for you that's already done. Mind if I send it to you?

i know you mean well , but theres already so many nascar mods for rf , i would do something that has not been done yet , like nascar feather lite modifieds or a NE super modified mod , then maybe something like a super street stock mod , we dont have any of them , anyway , good luck

Well, from what I understand this will be a straight conversion from NSR. It's not like he's trying to reinvent the wheel or something...dice, I have a Whelen Modified model in rF, but it's not mine; I merely put it in the game.

Dice, I normally release mods that have not been done yet for rFactor. So far, I have done Monster Trucks (Monster Mayhem) and Toilet Racing (Stinker Cup - was never 100% complete, but it is available). I am currently working on (WIP's) Snowmobiles (Snowmobile), Chariots (not "officially" announced), Pod Racers (not "officially" announced), and Santa Sleigh Racing (here again, not "officially" announced). Then of course, NSR for rFactor. Thought I would do me one that is common.

Like Ice again, the big thing with this conversion is that you will be able to take your setups for NSR and put them straight into rFactor. What others have done was try to improve the physics, with no background of what a stock car should feel like, so in my opinion, they have all failed. We all know NSR wasn't perfect, but it was fun, and that is what I am trying to capture Smile

I already have one of the rfm's done.

Currently working on converting Atlanta over. A little bit more of a task than I anticipated. rFactor does not support some of the extra commands that NSR did, so getting everything converted is taking a little longer than anticipated. Looks like it will take a day or two per track (we are talking loading graphics, scn files, gdb files, etc.... the actual models themselves are a piece of cake....)

Just a tip, which I'm sure you know; Some textures from NSR get a blur in rFactor, so if you put the bias on -2 in 3dSimEd you can keep the tracks looking good and clear.

Yup, this version will fix everything Smile

I do have a question though:

Does anyone remember/know which tracks have problems and what they are?
Now is the time to fix them, and since I haven't had NSR installed on my cpu since EA dropped us, and the COT mod was released, I do not remember which tracks had the problems and what they were Smile

Also a little update:

Atlanta & Bristol are both converted. Took about 12 hours to do them both (a lot of time was figuring out exactly what needed to be converted - should be faster now). I do not get much time during the week to do this, so it's mostly weekends only for me. I am thinking of releasing the "beta" with a few tracks, that way people can get their hands on it and see for themselves what is going on.

Red Ball had a pit road issue where it would not count laps, which I have a fixed version from NAWSCAR, and in Milwaukee if you were the first pit stall and went a little too deep in your pitstall, it would get you stuck, which NAWSCAR also fixed.

Why aren't you letting me do something for this project? I've completed Atlanta before 2009 started.
