Hello!

I want to try to create a new Skin of a Subaru Impreza but I don't really know how to start this project.
How the car skins in the download section has been created? Are there templates available of the cars or do I have to change an existing one to my own design? If I import one of the .dds fiels into PS a pop up asks me something about MIP MAPS... Do I have to edit a car skin with "NO" or with "YES" option? (I mean MIP MAPS in PS on or off).
What's the easiest way to create my own template or how do you manage this?

The best thing to do is to use a teplate. In most of the case it is available in the download section.

If you want to import an existing dds file, clik on NO when asked for the mip map.

Then, in order to work properly, i advise you to use layer groups for the different parts of the car. Each skinner have its own way to proceed I think but personnaly, I create a groupe for each side, bumper, hood and roof where i put the layers (with a distinctive name) to organize my work and find easily the layer I'm looking for and working with.
I don't know how to create easily a template and i think it requires some time to do it.
