I've recently used the above installer. When I try to start the game, I either get a black screen, or the title screen, then the game drops out back to desktop. I've tried changing the properties of the disk to "allow fast indexing" both in properties and in services.msc. Any ideas? |

Also in the same place, make sure that you DO NOT have compress files enabled.

I tried unticking the compress files option, but still no joy. Have you any ideas |
What are your computer specifications (CPU, graphics card, sound device, RAM etc) and what operating system are you using?
Are you using GEM? That's a better way of starting GPL up and can be found at https://forum.racesimcentral.com/showthread.php?t=306901

I'm stumped. I might have missed something - see the GPL FAQ for lots of tips on this and other GPL related problems at https://forum.racesimcentral.com/showthread.php?t=105748
What you describe is usually -
Quote: |
Crash to desktop (CTD) or problems on start up:
3- If you’re using Windows XP or newer OS, or an NTFS file system, make sure that under the Sierra folder (i.e. the folder that the GPL folder is under) > properties > general > advanced, “Allow indexing service” is enabled and "Compress" is disabled. Even if all other folders don't have Allow indexing service enabled, just having that property for the Sierra folder is enough. This might solve an issue where on startup the computer often does a disk check for no apparent reason. In that same window, make sure that "Compress contents to save space" is UNTICKED |
