Count me out! Wow what a joke. Buy cars and buy tracks....which you don't own on your computer but online only. What if you forget to pay your subscription on time....do you loose everything? |

Hi Rodder,
Files of tracks are stored on your computer and are updated. The monthly subscription contains the cars and tracks you will need for your initial oval and road racing seasons, so you don't need to spend anything more than the monthly price to be able to race...
If your subscription isn't paid for any reason, you do not lose any additional content you might have purchased, it'll be there waiting for you to return.
Hope that helps,
Tim Wheatley

Since the tracks are on our computers, can we practice and tweak setups off line? Will leagues be able to use this sim? |

Rodder,
There are test sessions where you can test alone, but you are required to be connect to the internet (and login to your account). This uses little/no bandwidth once you're connected, I download etc while in test sessions all the time.
At launch, we won't have leagues integrated, but we will find a way for leagues to plugin to the system eventually.
Thanks,
Tim

Hi Franck,
All I can tell you is what has been already released on the Web site: Spring '08.
Thanks,
Tim

Tim's replies here might indicate he has some inside knowledge, and since it isn't always fair to shoot the messenger, why don't you let DK and JH know that the community hasn't forgotten the past. It will take a lot of convincing to bring those back into the fold that were alienated by the actions of those two.
The pricing from what I understand is the monthly "service" charge. What is the charge for the platform software itself? If this is to be preceived as ala MMORPG, that would mean there is software that needs to be purchased, yes?
Is there a reason why JH and DK are hindering other software companies from acquiring licenses to include tracks and logos that would be considered competition? Isn't the world big enough for two sims? Or is that whole free market thing too hard for those two to understand?
Protecting your investment is one thing, going after other companies to make sure they can't do their own thing is another. JH and DK have no right to petition track owners to deny other sim makers the licenses to tracks. Is their/your company that insecure of the success of it's product?
The sim world is watching...I pray we are all smart enough to know the difference between fair market competition, and fascism. My hope for our community is that we really step back and think about who we are supporting with our dollars...because that is all that matters to those who want our dollars. |

iRacing doesn't care about the community. They are out of touch. First they sue modders who tried to keep Papyrus titles fresh and on going. Then they stand in the way of other companies getting licenses. They forgot about leagues in their "initial" release. iRacing tried to destroy the community, then they say on their web site "we're hoping to get as close as possible to meeting the needs of everyone in the community." The number 1 thing in the community is league play.....you guys didn't even come close. You spent so much time suing people in the community that you lost track of what we want. You will not get one dollar from me. To those that want to run iRacing, have fun but I don't want to be associated with a company like iRacing. I think iRacing will discover they burned their bridges with the stock car side of the community. |

After 2 years I figured most people would stop the iracing bashing, but I was wrong. I think it will be your loss if you don't try it. Also where did you see that Iracing was standing in the way of companies from getting licenses?

Ater 2 years I still think the same of them. As for the license thing.... I will let those companies let it out if they want. I for one will not give them one dollar. They went and treated the community like none of us mattered. I will never forgive them. They have money and they don't let us forget it.... by bragging they own the Red Sox and bought half of Roush or by sicking lawyers on the members of the community. No way will I support them. You guys who were racing sims during that time can make your own decision, the new guys don't know any better. I have made my decision and that is all I will say. I hold nothing personal to anyone that chooses to associate with iRacing....I hope you have fun. |
