| Is it just me or are we all really disappointed we didn't see a new patch or upgrade" to GTR2 instead of Race '07? I bought Race and I was really disappointed. It's GTR2 with wipers and a few other little updates here and there. I would have rather saw a patch that enabled the wipers in GTR2! |

No, I'd far rather have the new cars, tracks and championships in RACE 07 than a patch which adds wipers to GTR2. Simbin have to earn a living, and game developers earn their living by developing new titles rather than producing patches for old titles.
If you are not interested in WTCC, F3000 or the other cars in RACE 07, its simple, don't buy it  |

You can get all the tracks and cars you want in GTR from all the modders out there and even create new championships. I definitely understand making cash though. I'm sure they're hoping to add some things that the modders can't do and hopefully that will sell they're new game.
I know it sounds like I'm bashing them but I really enjoy GTR2. That and rFactor are my two favorite sims by far! I was just harping on the windshield wipers as an example of something no one has done with a mod (unfortunately). I don't see any difference in GTR2 and Race. I would have rather seen them go really different like a new updated version of GPL or something more historic that the WTCC cars they added.
. . . and that is the problem, I already bought the game! :) You wanna buy it cheap?? :) |

Very few modders can match Simbin quality in graphics, sound and physics. If you prefer second best for free fair enough but I prefer quality.

They are quite different in character IMO, FWD Touring Cars and F3000 cars are different to the GT cars in GTR2. They are sprint races as opposed to endurance races. And the 2 race format with reverse second race grid is very different to GTR2.

This isn't waht you said in your original post. I'd prefer them to do a new GPL as well but Papyrus didn't so its a good bet there isn't any money in it.

I've got it thanks. I'm amazed you didn't know what you were buying though. I suggest you try the demo in future.

Very good points Mini. I guess I was just hoping for more and I was venting. Sorry.
But Wipers would still be VERY cool in GTR2!  |
