I have installed the game 4 different times and everytime I try to open the game I get the familiar..... DiRT.exe has encountered an error and will have to close. I have contacted customer service with no help....
System Specs....
Windows XP
DirectX 9.0c
Pentium 4 CPU 3.0 GHz
1278 MB Ram
133 GB available hard drive space
GeForce 7600 GS |

Try updating your video drivers. Also, if it has a 3dsetup link in the program/Dirt folder, run it and see if you can set some options there and try again.

| i had the same problem. the minimum requirements calls for a duelcore cpu. the steepest minimum's i've seen to date. |

Your CPU is not the problem. My specs are as follows and I run the game at max graphics without an issue.
Pentium 4 3.0GHZ
Radeon x1950pro AGP 512 DDR3
1024DDR Memory
Directx 9.0c
120GB HDD
500GB Storage Drive
Sound Blaster Audigy 2zs
Like I said with the graphics set to max, forced 16x AF High quality AF enabled, 6x AA, Temporal AA enabled. It runs without any issue. I get around 30FPS. |

Try running it at the lowest resolution, no vsynch, no AA or AF etc. I tried the demo and it barely ran on my P4 2.4, 1.5 gigs RAM, Geforce 7600 GS 512 meg

| Have you run the 3dconfig? I'm at work and I completely forget if this game even has a 3dconfig setup. Also on the dirt install disk I believe there is a DirectX version you can install. Try installing that and see if it makes any difference. Maybe try right clicking on your destop clicking properties, then navigate to the setting tab, then down in the bottom right hand corner you will see advanced, click on this. A new screen will pop up and one of the tabs you will see will be troubleshoot. Click on the tab, you will see a slider named hardware acceleration. Move this to the left one notch at a time and try running the game each time, see if that makes any difference. |

| Does your gfx card support shader model 3 ? If it doesn't - DIRT won't work. |

| it does support shader model 3. I have tried all settings and cant get any results. I have come to the conclusion that it just wont work for me. |

Are you 100% sure you have a Geforce 7600 graphics card? Could I get you to confirm this because the error you are getting sounds like the one I was getting when my graphics card did not support shader model 3. Your PC specs are pretty much identical to mine so there should be no reason why it will not run. Did you apply the patch from the website? I believe there is a patch available.

Hi. My PC Specs is:
Mobile Barton 2600+
1 GB DDR400 (2x512)
Saphhire Ati X1950GT 256MB AGP
Windows XP SP2 with DirectX 9.0c
Last know driver for this setup.
After install ame i run and (error dont send  )
Ok. Patch game with 1.1 dont work
Ok. Patch game with 1.2 dont work
Maybe my CPU is low and old.
Pls help me. |

Hi!
I can't also get the game to run. I've currently one XP SP2 installation and one Vista on my PC, on XP i can't run it, and on Vista I can. There must be some missing file or something like that on XP. |
