After a two-year abscence from SCGT (Thank you, World of Warcraft!) and after I recently followed the Le Mans and Nurburgring 24 hour-races on TV and felt it was time to play good old Sports Car GT again.
Before I took my break I already worked on this carset and released a first version on a German website (the SCGT Mega-Mod) but I wasn't completely happy with it. Right now it is about to be finished and I'm gonna release the updated archive in a week or two.
It will contain a total of 134 cars:
Le Mans Prototypes (Audi, Panoz, Courage, Pescarolo, Cadillac, Riley&Scott, Dome, MG...)
GTP/GT1 (Bentley, Toyota GT One, Nissan R390, Porsche GT1, Panoz GTR, McLaren F1 GTR...)
GTS/GT2 (Dodge Viper GTS-R, Chevy Corvette C5-R, Saleen S7-R, Lister Storm, Ferrari 550...)
GT/GT3 (Porsche 996 GT3-RS, Ferrari 360 Modena, BMW M3GTR, Callaway C12-R...)
I have to point out that it is a collection carset, none of these cars has been built up and/or painted by me, I got them over the years from numerous SCGT fan websites.
What I did was editing the VEH files of each car to set up a realistic speed difference between all these cars, since every human car editor who built up SCGT stuff had his very own parameters to use with the car he created and if you used the various cars without adjusting them you might have had a Porsche GT3 beating up an Audi R8...that had been the moment when I thought there was something to do!
Right now I'm doing some smaller adjustments on the cars' engine and aerodynamic values and I'm running time comparison sessions on the Le Mans racetrack, to get as close as possible to the real speed- and laptime-differences of all the cars.
And one other thing that's NOT realistic but it was necessary for me:
Since the powerhouses especially the LMPs ang GT1s were almost impossible to tame (heavy oversteering) and I could not find a way to get rid of this, all the cars in the carset now have front wheel drive. I know this is far from any realism but now you can also handle the strongest vehicles without being at the very limit all the time. (For the players who want rear wheel drive, you just have to edit the veh-files of the cars with Wordpad, shouldn't take too much time).
I already like to thank all the fellows out there who built up all those great cars for SCGT, I hope no one dislikes the fact that I took one or some of the cars he created into this carset.
Within the next days I think I can release a complete time list of the Le Mans test sessions including pictures of each car, the whole carset will follow shortly after.

looks like i won't be bored when university is out in a week.
but a little suggestion: why don't you release two versions, one with RWD and one with all FWD? because i think figuring out what car has which transmission could be difficult (for every single car). or simply add alternative VEHs for the RWD cars.
other than that i'm really looking forward to this release and i think i'll install SCGT right after my final exam this semester. |

Believe me, it is more work to set up a second veh file for each car than to edit the cars' veh files.
Right now, ALL cars in the carset are FWD, so if you really want RWDs, just start at the beginning of the folder and move on through
By the way, the cars will use the regular 4 classes of SCGT:
GT1 => LMP
GT2 => GTP/GT1
GT3 => GTS/GT2
GTQ => GT/GT3

what i ment is that there will be some cars that have FWD, but i'd have to figure out for every single car if the real car has FWD or RWD. Anyway i'll take a look at your release and if i'm not happy with FWD for every car i'll just start editing it. |

In reality all those cars have RWD, I don't know any LMP or GT car with front wheel drive. I'd suggest to edit one of the fastest cars if I were you to figure out if you can handle them

oh, i thought there might be some with FWD in GT3 (but actually i should know that there are most cars with RWD since i study mechanical engineering with a specialisation on transportation technology must be my lack of sleep lately ) . but i'm no expert with GT cars, i just enjoy driving them |

Okay, here we go with the Test Session Timesheet. If the weather stays this bad, I will finish the carset this weekend.
