Saw their little side-by-side... Its amazing how much it looks like rFactor.. Maybe ISI should look into the IRacing code. I would almost put money on it that the code is the same. Lawsuit in order??? |

it looks the same because they both look so much like real life racing, while I can't stand what they did with modding in NR03, I think it's a huge testament to both ISI's and IRacing's commitment to realism, and ability to get there |

puhlease! iRacing has made Simulations that real drivers use for Training, rFactor is just another Game which is based on the very old ISI engine, attracting Gamers who are only interested in eye candy, with most tracks and cars made by modders who have never set a foot in a Race car.
Although rFactor has nice Sounds and shiny Grafiks, you have to difference between a Game and a serious Simulation. |

not to be a d*ck here, but explain why they would take 5 year old base code from a competitor who made less realistic sims? I would almost put my almost money on it being completely different.
The reason it looks the same is because they're both using similar graphical effects. Kinda funny that they both look the same considering the iracing video is one of a sim still in very early beta.

If you notice NR72 started the vaporware topic. I just can't help but feel he wants 1st racing to fail or never get released.
The problem there is, it will be released, and it will be heads above rfactor.
Already nr2003 is by far better than rfactors nascar mod and it's 4 years old.
I have no doubt that we will be seeing the best racing sim ever made when they release.
They have such deep pockets and the best developer in sim racing. What more could you want?

I usually never post on forums, but typically read them looking for tips and tricks. But when I come across one that ranks as one of the dumbest posts in sim racing history, I have to comment. Yours takes first prize.
RFactor can only dream that they will someday be anywhere near N2003, a 4, almost 5 year old sim... Forget about RF competing with IRacing. That will never happen. Hell, I'm still trying to get RFactor to accept my TSW wheel! I suppose I'll have to buy the typical $49.95 POS throw-away wheel to make RF work. (such crap).
By the way, IRacing has licensed quite a few tracks, including a lot of cup tracks. But until EA Sports gives up the license with NASCAR or IRacing outbids them on the next go around, it will stay in the box. I'm hearing that could be 2010 before it's release. Hope I don't die of old age before then!

Me thinks that they will not need to have to out bid for the NASCAR name. They could just make models of the cars (Fewnway/Rouch which is part owned by John Henry) and just stick any old decal that they can get permission to do so, and not seeing much of EA sports on the tracks gets me to thinking that they may be giving up the idea and go back to sport games which they do a great job at and leave the SIMS to the pros. |

maybe you want to see another side by side.
this is RF and see how nothing moves on the tires department.

then go back to the side by side of iracing and see why you can't compare.
same track, similar car i would guess. |
