I really wanted to like this game. Looks great and the course layouts are more realistic now than CMR5, and the buggys are a lot of fun . . . . . BUT . . . . once again the physics are really floaty, just like it is in all the other Codemasters games. Steering response is really poor. I tried all the steering settings, like linearity, but it did no good. Felt like I was driving a boat. Real slow response to turning the wheel, not crisp and exact like in RBR. Why can't they get this right?!! They're obviously putting a lot of money into it, so why oh why can't they make it more realistic!? Even just put in a realism mode or something for us simmers.
Sigh. |

The handling in CMR has being going downhill since CMR2, which is disappointing since that one sold so well anyway!
I didn't like the handling much in DIRT, but the graphics were pretty. It's like Codemasters tried to walk the tightrope between arcade and sim, and as any time that's attempted, failed. The Race Driver series has the exact same problem. It's hard but not fun. |

But didn't they say they re-vamped the entire physics engine this time adding much more feeling? I thought they had some super-duper-mega ultra physics engine running it this time lol. Wait, don't they say that everytime? |
