With a huge amount of thanks to black f. I am thrilled to announce that https://www.bobstrackbuilder.net will be supporting the creation of tracks for Richard Burns Rally.
Never did I imagine it possible but remarkably with just a few hours effort on my behalf under the instruction of black f. we've been able to produce a beta test track in RBR.
It'll be some time yet before we iron out the issues and create an easy to use interface ... but hey ... I can't stop smiling because this is a dream come true!!
edit: Only road and walls so far are modelled.
No trees or houses are supported either at this stage. Trees will likely come in 2-3 months.
Houses or anything more complex in shape will best be created in another application, BTB will eventually have an import capability whereby you can load and position (but not edit) your own 3d Max / Direct X objects ... but that's along way off.

This is HUGE news!! Awesome work guys. Track making is the holy grail for a rally sim and as RBR is by far the best one it will make a big impact on the longevity of the game!
Cheers!!

This just shows nothing in the world of cracking sim-racing game codes is impossible.
Can't wait for some realistic, long stages finally.

Pike's Peak? ...You know somebody is already probably trying lol... I saw several videos last night from what this mod can do. One of my things I wanted to see was "rougher" terrain where the car does have to be a little more careful at high speeds etc. Well, the video last night WAS rough terrain, I saw what I didn't think could be possible. Congrats again guys for all the work!!!! Can't wait this is such a big breakthrough!! |

ALright This is a start, to keep RBR in the furture of Sim racing.
Thanks for the Effort Black f, one's again you rule the RBR scene..
And Btw, It look's very easy to Create the track's, But still, to make beautiful workable track's is still not easy, it still take's allot of skill's to make it Real and fun to drive on, Maybe we should have a new sub forum, for the Track creation/Building's/livery/Trees-bushes/sufaces and so own, when that time comes to reality...
Regards

This is indeed great news. The best rally simulation ever produced to date, should not be allowed to die like it's namesake, because of waning interest due to lack of development and updates. I love the approach of companies like ISI (with rFactor)... The permission and encouragement to produce updates, mods and add-ons keep their 'titles' selling for a long time and it's much better than mass producing a completely 'new' title every year.
