Any link for screenshots? I don't speak that language so I can't browse the site to find any information, nor find any links that have any useful info in English. |

OMG what a screwed up mod this is! I just feel like a MASSIVE diaper blew up all over me! And it smells BAD.
After downloading 800mb+ in files, and trying to install them (none of which direct the files to the right place, only 1 of the like 70 files you have to install has a readme, and no-one seems to know the exact order to install them in. I did a FRESH RBR install before attempting this install, and had everything in order. Now my RBR folder is 5.41GB, and not one thing inside this mod will work! I install the carset and tarmac etc, hit install mod, wait, then launch and I end up in normal RBR. Glad I just wasted that 3 hours downloading all this stuff.
Please people if your going to create something like this, it's a -good- idea not to -try- to confuse the installation worse than it already is. Readme's are a good thing. I don't need a readme to tell me thanks for downloading and nothing else like all the readme's do. A readme is supposed to tell you what to do with the files.... Really sad something this great has to be a freaking monumental task. And then now, when it doesn't work, you have to wonder where in the installation of 70+ files something went wrong....yeah I feel like doing this again.....
If you can't walk on water, don't attempt to install this mod. It's frustrating because there's a ton of files, and there's nothing that says exactly where all of the files go, and you have to point every file to a place that no-one tells you where to unzip too....just frustrating. This could have been easy but someone decided that you should be able to read-minds, so there's no need for a readme? WTF. |

OK. youre right about the confusing state of the mod. Its even worse after they made a new sitestructure over at rallyesim. But heres what I did, and mine works flawlessly (more or less - I seem to have problems with one or two cars, and cant get nothing else than snow in one of the finland stages, nomatter what I choose, but 99 % works GREAT.
I copied all my downloaded files to my main rbr dir and installed them from here. if installer does not point to main dir when installing, then point installer to main rbr dir.
Installed the original RSRBR version 4 (it installs patch .01 and .02 of rbr)
installed the patch (the VB6) i
installed update .04 (dont know if that is nessecary anymore when verion .05 it to be installed, but thats how I did it.)
downloaded the one texturefile with all textures in it, and copied all files to rbr dir and installed them one by one,
installed CCmod .02
installed Loadingscreenmod
installed pace note mod
installed update .05
Start the game on the red icon called RSRBR4
select a "package of cars" and a MOD and press "install pack and mod".
then choose RichardburnsRally_SSE or -_NoSSE ( I use _SSE)
Then press "Launch" and the game should load your selected cars and texturemod.
But I know many has problems, Mayby I was just lucky...
Best of luck

Thanks for the help Ole, might try again later when I get some time.
I figured out one thing though, I had to change the extension for that big rml file to an exe, and then it would install the cars (which of course no readme says). Running the bat file didn't install everything for whatever reason. Now my directory is 6.xx GB big, and none of the surface mods work. Tarmac=snow, etc.
Saw a new car last night, right before it crashed, so I'll try later, but thanks for the suggestions! |

You might have a download problem on that file, I just copied it to my rbr dir, and ran the install.bat, and it installed. Didnt change any extentionnames. and the dir should be something like "...\SCi Games\Richard Burns Rally\RSRBR4.exe" or your standard rbr dir in other words. anything else is wrong.

Yes the RSRBR4 file was put there by the bat file, but for some reason I only had the 1st carset. If I tried to choose any other carset, it would tell me that my RBRBR4 install was not valid. After more reading, I found one guy with the same problem that said he changed the rml to an exe and it installed everything fine then. I tried that and it worked. Now I can choose any carset and it doesn't say its an invalid install of RSRBR. But, no-matter what the textures still do not change, and I actually ran all of the EXE's of the texture files, from within the RBR directory, and made sure I saw they were going in the right directory (Maps) I think it was called in Textures. A little fuzzy thinking 4 days back and I haven't done anything else with it yet. But thanks for any help it is appreciated.

Hello Ole,
What is the CCmod .02? Also what do the loading screen and pace note mods do; are they just updates of what's already there?
Thanks...
