I emailed Viva-Media Monday and still no answer. |

| It would seem that a number of these games (the ones distributed with GTR2) have a problem with the CD key. I have 2 copies and while both came with a CD key neither of them work. I have to run through the install, enter the key, wait for it to fail (which takes several minutes) and then contact viva-media with the information log so that they can give me what (I believe) Starforce calls a "recovery" or "rescue" key. This key is NOT an equivalent replacement for the original and only works on the machine that produced the log file. Since I have 2 older copies (the original distribution) and 2 new copies I have valid licenses for 4 machines. To set up all machines so that they can run with any disc placed in them I have to go through this entire process and get a new cd key for each machine (for the new discs delivered with GTR2). And if I ever reload the OS I have to do this again. This is an utter PITA and really pissing me off. I do the right thing, buy the product legally, and this is what I get. Now, since it appears that there is no one available to answer my calls until Monday, I can not set up my machines to run. I am really glad to see that GTR2 and Race 07 are not using Starforce and I wish that they would deliver a patch for GTL to bypass this garbage. |

| STARFORCE is worse than a virus . The original GTR2 does not use it and there is a no cd avilable. And now there is GTR2 power and Glory which is better tha GTL and we also have Rfactor Historic which is also better than GTl and neither have an InvaSIVE Vires type copy protection. I own GTL but only use it for installing the much better Mods fo gtr2 and RFactor. It was tougher gitting rid of alll traceses of Starforce on my computer than it was AOL and we all know how bad it is. |
