Both are simulations and has same basic newton values and both are trying to simulate car on tarmac. Cars are behaving totally different, why?

(This is not for flaming)

Given they have different cars and a different game engine its not too surprising really. The original GTR and the new GTR2 feel very different, and they are the same cars but with a modified game engine. The original PCC mod for rFactor and the latest version feel very diferent, so even when using the same game engine, the numbers you put into it are critical.

I would have thought the most interesting comparison was the BMW F1 car in rFactor and LFS, then at least you are trying to simulate the same car, probably with the same data put into the physics.

I had the same thought about the two BMW F1 cars. Not having LFS I couldn't compare the two.
Making both the physics engine and developing individual cars physics is more of a art form then a science. Until someone can hook up some kind of computer to each real car that measures every movement and ever bit of G force, etc. etc. it will remain that way!

Both of your responses are missing the point of the original poster.

I think my post stands as correct. You can forget your newton laws of physics when it comes to sensing a driving sim on the computer. It is a work of art just like a painting. One person might like Van Goughe another De Vinche. Both may provide a more realistic experience to the viewer, depending on the viewer.
Both artist use oil and canvas. (Newtons laws of phsics.)Both often painted the same subject matter. Each came up with totally different interpretations of how to simulate their subject matter. Van Goughe appeals to ones emotions, De Vinche more to ones intellect. It is only a simulation, never reality!

Its Da Vinci and Van Gogh, and your comparision is absurd, although they use canvas and oil, they never portraied the same thing, they are separated by hundreds of years .... its like you saying LFS coder used a PC and C++ and GTR coder used a PC and C++ so they should have done the exact same thing.....

Now if you say 2 artists from same exact time, painting the exact same thing... then yes i agree it will come out differently, but still, in a SIM some of the things (physics wise) are based on very real inputs.. not subject to artistic interpretations or styles, if those happen then we are on the AREA of the "CANNED" stuff to give a more "realistic feeling"...

I happen to know that making sim physics by real numbers from real cars doesn't work. It works with some things, like horse power, weight of the car etc. But when it comes to how the car feels and acts it is a different story. No physics engine yet, allows the real world numbers to be put in (tire slip angles , G-forces, suspension forces, etc.) and out comes a car that acts like the real thing.
