Hi Syborgis,
I'm not sure about the guru meditation error, but...whenever I had any problems with Mobil 1 Rally Championship crashing to the desktop (CTD), simply turning on VSync solved the problem.
Hope this helps,
Aly

Hi Syborgis,
I'll do my best to explain it. VSync is a video card setting that keeps the framerate (also known as Frames Per Second or FPS) that your video card can put out...from exceeding your monitor's refresh rate (your monitor's ability to put up a new frame (picture).
If your monitor's refresh rate is set at 60 Hz (60 frames per second?), turning on VSync keeps the frame rate "syncronized" with this refresh rate.
Now, how do you turn VSync on and off?
If you have an nVidia video card (like I used to), you would want to download and install a program called RivaTuner, which you can get on the www.guru3d.com website.
If you have an ATI Radeon video card (like I do now...and I like it very much ), you'll want to either use your "Catalyst Control Center" video settings OR just download and install a program called ATI Tray Tools, also available from the guru3d website. Guru3d also has all the video drivers you'll ever need for your video card. If you do have an ATI card, you should know that some drivers you download will have the Catalyst Control Center included with the drivers, and others won't. You'll know it usually by it saying CCC somewhere in the filename.
The VSync setting is something you can turn on or off in any of these programs. Just make sure to hit the Apply button when you're done changing the setting. When you have these programs, you can also experiment with the Anti-Aliasing settings and the Anisotropic Filtering settings as well...settings which improve the visual quality of your game or sim...although at the expense of performance...it's all about finding the balance.
Another thing I'd recommend as well, is to go into your video settings in the Windows control panel, and turn your monitor's refresh rate up to 85Hz. This is better for your eyes, looks better, and will also give your video card more freedom to run smoother.
Sorry to ramble on, but once you get me started it's hard to stop me. LOL
Hope I was somewhat clear on things,
Aly

Try setting down the maximum frames to 60.
The game crashes when you drive down into mud if your computer is running more thatn 60fps.
