EA has the rights to NASCAR, old news, but couldn't iracing make a NASCAR game without the nascar name, no named tracks, and no named stockcars. They could make similar tracks and the body style of the cars and then we could mod the rest of the game to take it to our standards.
But you know, they hate people modding NR2003. |

I would just look for a friendlier group to mod for . RFactor seems to be the newest one , and there are dome good mods , including NASCAR .
IRacing is out to kill 2003 so there is no more competition for them , but they are too late . They turned everyone against them already , and their pay-to-play system will only be for high-enders that want to compete in a ladder type system .
Also , it's still "vaporware" . |

There is a good chance that that is exactly what will happen. If you check out the website there is a Stock car, a late model and an open wheel car. I'm sure you'll be able to paint the cars just like in N2003 and there are tonnes of tracks including some Nascar tracks. Unless they encrypt the files like Simbin does then I would expect a Nascar mod soon after its release.
As for pay to play. I keep seeing this in posts but does anybody actually know what the sim will be like. Everyone assumes it will be pay to play, but has anyone from iracing actually said this. |
