We (the mod creators) hope that this will be the next best thing to Richard Burns rally.
I have only made the menu and menu sounds but i have also been asked to beta test those cars and i can say it feels the closest thing to RBR yet.
The car list is also huge and covers more that you can expect at first (Seat Cordoba, Skoda Fabia, etc.)
Of course not all are released once - there will be 3 stages of car releases, and the first one is going to be released very soon.
We are trying our best to make this a quality mod, and we hope that we can get some good feedback from those who will download it. Positive or negative - both are welcome

I find Rally Trophy is actually more fun than RBR, probably because the stages are not so narrow and you can drive faster, plus i much prefer the old cars to modern 4WD. But I am surprised that you want to cover the same ground as RBR. Is there a reason for this? Of course you are perfectly entitled to make whatever mod you want, i'm just curious as to why |

RBR is the best rally simulation out there, not doubt. Making RT close to it is only logical.
Are the physics on par with RBR though? That's the biggest question for this mod.

There will be new physics with this Mod to match the visual effects.
The physics are based as closely to RBR as possible, which will be a big improvement over the standard RT physics.
Also the cars will be TT RealMod compatible which means that the tyre physics are also better than the original RT ones.
All in all hopefully this will be a welcome "Modern Car" addition for all RT fans.

I think if you have seen the list of available car not only here at BHMS, but also No-Grip you will find a vast number of older cars that I have made or helped out with.
I think this new Mod will fill a void with newer cars for people who are not so enthusiastic about older cars like you and me. I hope with this Mod it may encourage others to participate and enjoy RT!!

Probably not 100% like RBR but closest than anything else so far.
And yes you need to use breaks unlike in Colin McRae or WRC games

I would have gone with a 1970's through 1980's mod myself. I don't understand why you would take a vintage rally game like RT and turn it into a typical modern rally racer. The entire allure of RT is it's vintage roots. |

I dont think it will be the last mod, just at first the modern WRC, then the 80's, 70's...
And after all, you can find loads of add-on cars from 70's and 80's already

I was hoping that Rally Trophy 2 would have covered the 70-80's era, but then Bugbear got into that whole Flatout thing so it was never meant to be I guess. |

I can count 7 70's to 80's cars in the download section and a further multitude at No-Grip Here
As I have stated above I think the trend at the moment is with more Modern Cars, I suppose Anyone could put together a new "Rally Trophy 2" Mod with the cars available, but we thought it might be of some interest with some "NEW" cars
