Atari has released a playable demo for Crashday, allowing you to take the imminent combat stunt action racing game by Moon Byte Studios for a spin. This demo contains a Wrecking Match event, a Stunt Show event, and multiplayer on LAN and Internet, but oddly enough it's restricted to only 50 demo launches. File size is a whooping 309 Mb.

Physics are slightly better than CMR05, playability and replay value are below standards. If only this game had better physics .. another missed opportunity (a la FlatOut)

if the release will be in the same format as demo then CD will be one of the most modable games around.
files seems really easy to understand and edit |

omg its awful! The installation music gave me a bad impression I was hoping wouldn't continue into the game but I had to turn it off after just 2 goes. The physics engine is terrible. I think I prefer Stunts! to this! By far! |

The stunt stuff was less fun than I thought it would be, mainly due to car physics, but the shoot-um-up stuff was more fun than I thought. Car models look good, graphics look very good, now they just need a little more real physics like Flatout. Not 100% real, but believable. At it's current level its probably better played with a keyboard.... |

I take "A required security module can not be activated. This program can not be executed" when I try to start game .
What's wrong with the demo or my computer. Bt the way I'm using nero7 premium without in cd, neroscout and imagedrive. |

Does the demo have basically no sounds and low-res environments or is it just my PC? I have all graphics on max and only music turned off in sound options. I get no sounds other than explosions, and great looking cars on an 8-bit graphics / 16 color playing field. What gives? |

Wheres the FUN? Seems like an bad mix of Trackmania, Flatout and Twisted Metal Black, though I would rather play any if those games before this Crashday. |

I find it lots of fun.
Yes, it's very moddable. Not just because there's lots of data in plain text format, but also because:
-Final version will have a track editor a la 4D-Stunts. Tracks can have up to 2000 tiles (which are 20x20meters each) in any rectangular shape. Furthermore, you can blend the track with a heighmap, creating mountains or whatever.
-After final version, a development kit will be released, that will allow to create new track tiles, and new cars.
I may even buy it. Taking into account that 99% of arcade games don't last more than a day in my hard disk, this is a big achievement. The devs are very friendly too, they accepted some suggestions i offered years ago, so now some of the features you see (or you'll see in final release) are there because of the community.

Not that bad. Some of the strangest physics I ever seen. The stunting part is a waste of time due to unrealistic physics and damage. I fail to see how this game could be fun when racing.
Just blasting around and pulverizing your enemies with weapons is pretty fun, for a while. Spectacular explosions! To bad the sounds doesnt work properly.
In the end, I rather buy Flatout 2. |

not bad, but the physics are horrible.
its like trackmania mixed with carmageddon. anyway the wreck and destroy your enemies is fun but many games are about the same (interstate 76 for example).
the spirit of Stunts is realistic cars and physics but on unrealistic circuits, that extreme combination was the source of that great game. (and the extremely fun history of the ai too ) |

I'll buy it if the physics are improved, otherwise I'll wait till it hits the bargin bin and only then will I buy it for my 1 year old dog, who like to watch TV!!!
Overall pure crap!! and the install music was dreadfull, loud and annoying enough to force my sound off. Thank god for the remote control!!

I'm going to have to say Trackmania is a much better stunt game, flat out is a much better crash style race game, crashday falls inbetween both, but sub par.
There is still room in this genre for someone to try a stunt/bash style racing game that uses some better physics models that at least have some aspect of feel.
