I wish there where complete Car Configurations to download... thanks to your Tool it should be possible. Would save me much time searching for the right Parts / Physics / Skins / Sounds

Superb tool and the fact you can chose which program to start RBR is excellent. It has transformed my RBR experience!
The only improvement I can think of is more possible functions such as writing to splash.dat and insert a chosen garage screen that suits the chosen car. Car specs could also be possible. Changing logos would be more difficult to implement. |

Thanks all!
I have already planned for the next version:
- update of carspecs and carnames
- update of garage pictures
- update of DigiDash and changing of DigiDash position
(but all this slow down the start of the game)
- changing of max. steering wheel degrees (inside car)
more difficult and a lot of work (not for next version, maybe never)
- weather selection
- Setup editor
- changing of computer driver (faster/slower) |

Great stuff hdi. How about an aidrv.ini and car.ini editor?
I am setting up different seasons for possible use with a RBR Career that I making in Excel(hopefully can be implemented in a Windows GUI by someone who knows how). Having a driver ai and a car.ini editor would be great. |

I keep on getting an error message...
an unnamed file contains an invalid path.
And because of this error, I can't save any CARSETS.
Any ways to solve this?

I can try, but it would be very difficult without some additional information.
1. which system do you use? (Windows 98,2000,XP)
2. can you post your current tool configuration file?
(open the file rbrcps.ini in the toolpath and look at an entry like
"CFGFILE = C:\PROGRAMME\RBRSTART\NEWCARS.CFG",
this file "xxx.CFG" would be very helpfull for me)
3. the path to your game folder like "C:\Programme\SCi Games\Richard Burns
Rally"
Do you have this error all the time (even if you load the default configuration) or only with a certain configuration? |

OK, now I can imagine what's the problem.
If the tool starts, it looks if the backups (*.cps) of the files
audio.ini, RichardBurnsRally.ini and cars.ini exists. If not, the tool
thing it starts the first time and try to create this backup files.
The error message occur because the tool can't create these files. It seems
that the tool have no write permissions to the game folder.
Possible reasons:
- your hole RBR folder is write protected (the tool removes the write protection only from the needed files)
- your account on the system have not the permission to do that
(I must confess that I never test the tool without administrator rights)
- maybe not enough free disk space (???) |

I tried that, but no luck.
Because I created all these cars and renamed all my physics files, RBR can't be played until this tool works...

This is strange. The one and only reason to show the "first start" message are these three files. Why can't the tool copy the files:
C:\Program Files\SCi Games\Richard Burns Rally\audio.ini =>(to) audio.cps (same path)
C:\Program Files\SCi Games\Richard Burns Rally\RichardBurnsRally.ini => RichardBurnsRally.cps
C:\Program Files\SCi Games\Richard Burns Rally\cars\cars.ini => cars.cps ?
Is it possible that one of these ini files doesn't exists?
Oops! You renamed all physics folders? The game need the original physics folders to work and also the tool don't touch them (it just change the content of the folder "i2003").
Normally the game should work all the time. Also if you start the game without the tool. The tool just change the path in some ini files and only for one slot (Subaru03)
Maybe you can post your "custom.cfg"? |

Unfortunately, all those files exist. Everything looks fine. The game runs fine... I just want to get this tool working, that's all. Swapping cars all the time is not very fun...
