Would like to see a price option W/O the surround sound speakers. I already have 5.1 Logitech 500W surround, so I have no need for their speakers. But, it shows that they are included on any style seat you purchase from them. Also, the cupholder is an expense I could cut also.
Seems a little expensive, but then I haven't tried to make a piece as nice as this
EDIT: $810 for Seat, Wheel holder, and LCD stand.
+ Shipping
And the keyboard is on the floor I guess (no keyboard stand option like Frex) |

For $75 worth of PVC drain pipe and fittings, PVC glue and some metalic spray paint, you can make an identical copy of that rig. Add another $75 for the plastic seat with vinyl slip cover and you've got it.
It's a VERY simple seat base you can make yourself. Drain pipe looks a little hokey though, that's why I only use it for drains....and Hockey goals. |

I've been building those PVC setups for about three years. Looks almost exactly the same, except that I have a place for a monitor, keyboard, mouse and Act-labs shifter. I never thought to sell them. I can't believe they're selling them for that price. I've been giving them away to my friends.
The cost for the PVC and fittings is closer to $30 and the seat you can buy from jegs.com for $37 without the nasty plastic cover. PVC is suprisingly strong when the length of the runs is short. Build time is about 1/2 hour once you've made a couple.

Maybe they just wanted to show the game consoles in the pictures....but never shelve your PS2 or Xbox (or anything else) on top of a subwoofer! |

Total 'emersion', eh?
By the way, to anyone at BHMS who's listening, the ads from lowermybills.com make me about 10% as likely to visit lately. It's the visual equivalent of being smacked in the face whenever the page loads up. |

Guys, guys. Listen, I work at HotSeat. The pipes aren't PVC, they're roll bar guage steel. We tried PVC to make it cheap in the very beginning and it won't support the weight. Trust me when I say these things are well built.
The table top and pedal mounts are all high-grade Tig welded aluminum, and I challenge anyone to find anything at this price point that offers as rigid a gaming surface.
We've tried all the competitors, and their wheels move all over the place. Ours has surround sound and the most rigid table on the market. It adjusts up and down also.
The sound system is very good too. It's got 3 audio inputs so you can switch between a DVD player, an Ipod and a game system if you want.
We've been putting the keyboard on the subwoofer at left and that's fine too. Also note that the seat cover has very thick padding and is very comfortable. |
