Hopefully, this will help some of you new to Heat to find what you're looking for, but if not, feel free to make a post and we'll do our best to help.
Where to find NASCAR Heat Demo?
For those looking for NASCAR Heat demo can find it here:
https://www.score.does.it/
in the "Downloads" section
or here:
https://www.3dgamers.com/dlselect/games/nascarheat/heatdemo11.exe.html
Is it possible to play NASCAR Heat add-ons not owning the full game?
Yes, and very simple. "NASCAR Heat Essentials" is a package of base files which are required to run mods, tracks and even carsets. It will take care of everything add-ons need. You'll be able to play add-ons both online and offline. Once installed, you can install any MOD/track/carset as if you had full version of NASCAR Heat installed. It also has a very easy to use built-in MOD Launcher for launching all mods that you will have on your hard drive.
Download from The MOD Squad :
https://www.themodsquad.uni.cc/
Go to Downloads -> "NASCAR Heat Essentials" to download the installer. 25 MB download only .
I already have the demo installed and would like to try some add-ons, can I convert it to "full" version?
Yes, you do. NASCAR Heat demo v1.1 can be converted to a fully functional base for NASCAR Heat mods and tracks, so you don't have to buy NASCAR Heat to try the add-ons, however, you won't have access to original tracks and other files. This will require downloading certain MODs which can be more than 100 MBs in total (not counting the demo) and doing some files moving work. You might just want to get "NASCAR Heat Essentials" in the end which is far easier to set up (look above for more info).
Information on how to convert demo to "full" version can be found here:
https://www.score.does.it/ in the "Newbie Corner" section
note: it won't turn into _full_ version, but as I've already said, it will be a fully functional base for most (if not all) NASCAR Heat add-ons.
If after trying out the demo and its mods you liked it, you can buy full version via such sites as https://www.amazon.com/ to access all other goodies, including original tracks. It really is not expensive nowadays and amazon usually has several copies.
Where can I find MOD Launcher 2?
Latest versions are always available at The MOD Squad and Texas Speed Racing sites:
https://www.themodsquad.uni.cc/
https://www.texasspeedracing.com/
Note : right now v1.6 is in the works and will be released soon at the above mentioned web sites. The new version will double the amount of features available currently in version 1.5.
I'm new to NHeat, are there any "newbie guides" ?
Yes, there are:
[1] https://www.score.does.it/ in the "Newbie Corner" section
[2] https://themodsquad.uni.cc/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=9 in the Downloads -> "NASCAR Heat Guides" section

I'm getting "NASCAR Heat is not designed for Windows 2000" popup message. Is there a way of disabling it?
Yes, you need the patched EXE. Download it from this location:
https://hawk.sitesled.com/files/Patched_NASCAR_Heat_EXEcutable.rar
Just replace your NASCAR Heat.exe with this one, or if you have NHeat.exe, then rename this one to NHeat.exe and replace yours.
I've downloaded some MODs, but most of them have uncompetitive AI. Can I fix it? If so, how?
Yes, you do, and it's not difficult. Here's the step by step guide which covers this question:
https://forum.rscnet.org/showthread.php?t=165943
I would like to try myself at MOD and/or track making for NASCAR Heat. Where can I ask my questions about editing?
There are several places where you can get help on different aspects of Heat Editing. Here are the places where you are most likely to be helped:
https://www.texasspeedracing.com/forum/
https://themodsquad.uni.cc/modules.php?name=Forums
https://forum.rscnet.org/forumdisplay.php?f=784
https://bhms.racesimcentral.net/board/viewforum.php?f=36
https://score.proboards19.com/
Where can I find patches for NASCAR Heat?
There's really a lot of sites where you can get patches. Just to name a few:
https://bhms.racesimcentral.net/NH/downloads/571
https://www.texasspeedracing.com/
https://themodsquad.uni.cc/modules.php?name=Downloads
https://www.racepainter.com/main/patches/patches.html
The last link has a combo patch, which is meant to be applied after you've done a fresh install of NASCAR Heat and want it to be patched up-to-date. It installs patch 1.80 and sets up your game to run without the CD as well as makes necessary changes for MODs and tracks to work correctly.
What is the latest NASCAR Heat patch?
The latest patch as of February 2005 is 1.80 and released in August, 2004.
Do I need to get all the previous patches and install them all in order to get the game up-to-date?
No, that is not necessary. The latest patch [1.80] has all the previous patches inside it. It is the only one you need to get up to speed.
Can I see somewhere the list of all mods (preferably with screenshots) which are available for NASCAR Heat?
There have been released over 200 mods for this sim through the years, and right now you won't find the page that lists them all, but there's a few places where you still can see MOD lists and track lists:
https://themodsquad.uni.cc/modlist/cars.shtml // mod list
https://themodsquad.uni.cc/tracklist/tracks.shtml // track list
but by any means these are not full lists, there's much more in Heat's collection...
and here's a place where you can see screenshots for some of the available MODs :
https://bhms.racesimcentral.net/NH/mods
note : the link above will be filled within some period of time with most MODs that are available for Heat, along with the screenshots.

I've seen road courses with letters T and S at the end, what does it mean and what's the difference?
T tracks use 2 second penalties instead of 8 second sputter traps, and S tracks use combination of 2 second penalties and sputter traps.
