Bluemonkey,
i've just joined this forum myself as i was looking for the answer to your question the other day. The missus for once made the inspired decision of buying me something other than socks this christmas and bought me the Logitech MOMO Force Feedback steering wheel. Awesome piece of kit, but wasn't sure if it would work with some of my older games.
The wheel comes with the Wingman Profiler that lets you configure the controls to specific games, and that included SCGT. At first, I couldn't get SCGT to pick it up in the controller configuration screen. After much head scratching I realised that my other joypads (Microsoft sidewinder and Saitek rumble pad) were taking priority over my wheel. Simple solution was to unplug the other pads while I configured the controls...once this was done the other pads could be plugged back in as SCGT had "locked on" to the wheel. After a few tweeks of the dead zone and sensitivity options, I found it worked like a charm.
If you're in any doubt as to the quality of the wheel then don't be. It's simply the best wheel i've tried by a considerable margin. So far i've put it through it's paces on F1 99-02 (fantastic on this game), Need 4 Speed Underground 2 (although not found the dead zone and sensitivity options on this one yet), Colin McRae 4, Rally Championship 2000 (20 minute long stages...you soon get to know the wheel on this one!) TOCA Race Driver 2, Richard Burns Rally and of course SCGT. Get it, get it now. You will not be disappointed.
Hope that helped! |
