New York (October 28, 2004) Codemasters, a leading global publisher of interactive entertainment, announced today that its internationally acclaimed rally game, Colin McRae Rally 2005, has shipped to North American retail outlets for PC-DVD. A console version of the game is also available on the Xbox video game system from Microsoft.

Just when drivers thought a McRae game couldnt offer more detail or visual splendor, Colin McRae Rally 2005 crosses the finish line a winner once again: the new hood-cam and an improved chase cam gives a real sensation of speed and undulation. Enhanced damage and scenery visuals include new individual damage models for every car. Should a driver crash into a tree, it will shudder and even drop leaves!

Colin McRae Rally 2005 features 30 cars, including the Subaru 22B STI, Audi Sport Quattro Rallye, MG Sebring Special and the 1967 Morris Mini Cooper S. Modeled with extraordinary attention to detail, the vehicles are authentic and handle the road according to how each would perform under realistic conditions.

Whatever...sounds like you have some kind of agenda....

I'm going to get it if I see it on the shelves. At $19.95 it's a steal. I played the second CMR5 demo and really liked it because it was like CMR4...enhanced and with more types of racing. Absolutely perfect new hood view for racing too.

It's a common missconception that this is a simulation of rally cars, in fact this is highly realistic simulation of a UFO, glued to the road.

If you remember wipeout 2097 then this is like CMR 2105

CMR games hit the shelves like bombs: they explode (with posters commercials etc.) and they are gone, the only thing left after them is destruction to the PCs and consoles of the people who were strange enough to buy it Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink

HEADLINE NEWS:

"Local PC Store gets a case full of burned CMR5 CD's. 150 CD boxes were destroyed; It was literally just a case full of ashes when they opened it up. Investigators on the scene said that the fumes were so toxic coming off the boxes, that they self ignited inside the case holding all 150 CD's. That's right, the fumes self ignited and burned them all inside the box. Luckily the fire stayed self-contained and did not burn the cases of RBR sitting beside it.
The investigators suggested to Codemasters not to pile this much crap in one box, or this might happen again."

Really, sad part is the people buying this really think this is the way these cars handle. NOOOO. This is the way UFO's handle over dirt, just like someone said above.
Nice try codies....

This is the problem. People only know the driver by the game and not his actual performance

Don't sniff at the Paris-Dakar. Even Ari Vatanen did it a few times when group B was banned.

Anyway, Colin was the youngest WRC champion ever, which is why the game was named after him. Besides, the only other driver that has won more rallies than him is Carlos Sainz, and he's been racing 17 years. I think Colin started in 92 or 93, (compared to 87).
