For sure a superb feature, great!
In regard in grafics, it's hard to say (as it's hard to see). I don't know, never ran 200+ in the rain, but I doubt that you actually can see rain drops falling from the sky when racing.
What you see is them slamming on to the wind-shield, I guess.
And the spume (right term?) from cars racing in front, that would be nice. Not only showing it, but also increasing the rain drop density on the shield as you approach.
I don't know how it's done in other racing games (e.g. F1 sims) as I actually run only NASCAR ... only my ideas.
But so far, very nice overall.
Hope this helps. |

I asume this track will be like the wet GPL tracks: modifided grip wet track look textures and probably large flat animated 3d files with rain gfx on them.
Unfortunatly Nascar just takes it as a low grip track: no actual weather simulation in the Papyrus engine apart from temp and wind
BTW could you configure the track surface to be gravel and change the grip values in the ini file and modify the dust mips to look like spray. |

Hey, I thought you wanted to redo all the Papyrus code, hehe.
Good luck, Dom.

This mod is not going to change anything but the values entered into the engine the game will be NR2003 underneath just like GPL is the same engine underneath.

ajp,
So not true
I made the 3D models. They aren't made of numerical values. Well if you look at bits, they are
Anyway, wait till you try it.

Aha ... I (mis-)read somewhere that they were coding something extra into it. The individual car types are having different physics, so I thought that they would need to change some code ... I doubt that they could do that via ini-files or what so ever.
And I even think I read that they would make it a "new" game, having a new *.exe-file.
Ah, I better follow Jure's advice and wait and see ...

I think you don't understand I was talking about the fact that this mod changes the physical values of the car (like 330,pta,cts) but doesn't change the core game code (menu layouts, options, paintshop etc.)

ajp,
You know what mod means? If we could do all that you listed, we would have a new game. Sheeesh!
And menus are new.

I'm asuming this mod is more than just PTA with new track ini files, like OWR? I hope it's more like 330 with a new exe that changes the handling of the cars?
