Slight Problem

Sweet job on making this game, must have taken a lot of work. I do have one problem though as the game does not fully load when I try to start it. I double click the game to start it, the screen turns black, makes a revving noise and then I hear the car idling but there is no image. I have only done one thing and that was make a 175hp engine for the car on the engine maker from your website. Any thoughts?

Hi XR4, Have you ever got it to work (i.e. before you put in the new engine)? Could you tell me about your system - cpu / gfx / sound / controllers? I have a worry that your CPU is too slow (it is constantly updating physics and having no time for gfx updates). You could try changing the options.ini lines: - Timestep = 0.003 slowmo = 3 to Timestep = 0.004 slowmo = 4 although i'm not sure how well that will work. Make sure there is nothing running in the background as well! Hope we can get it working on your machine. All the best, Ash

that is probably the reason. My comp is really slow. I guess I kinda underestamated the system requirments when I saw the screenshots. However it did work at first, so I dunno

What spec is your machine? Can't I tempt you with an RS 500 Sierra? I hope to add one at some stage All the best, Ash

Lets see here...pentium 3, 128mg, 17 gig hardrive, and a 6x dvd drive. Not to good with all that stuff. And yeah, the RS500 would be sweet, maybe two models the euro version and the american merkur maybe?? You mind checking out my thread in the work in progress section about the track I made, just wanna see what you think.

I got it working again but it operates really slowly on parts of the track. Maybe there is a way to make the track a little less um... big?

Hmmm, the engine is far from optimized at the minute - so possibly that could help your plight in time. The track is very small already, i'm not sure what could be done. What graphics card do you have? All the best, Ash
