The appointed thread for discussion regarding graphical issues, problems, fixes, bugs. See the other (sticky) threads for reporting non-graphics related problems & bugs.

I have 1 pixel width horizontal lines in the road. I don't have AA turned on like other threads suggest and I'm using Rad 9800, XP3200 CPU and 1GB Ram. I'm running 1280*1024 with 2X Ansiotrophic Filtering at full detail.

Any suggestions??

From the German forums I have reports of regular crashes in some configurations with ATI's latest 4.8 driver. Those people solved the crashes by going back to 4.7

Hi guys & girls, let me tell you a story. Don't worry, it's short Cool

I was looking for RBR so much, even so much I managed to upgrade my video card to nVidia FX5700, way above recommended graphics card for this game. I was using GeFroce4 Ti4200 before, kept the drivers up-to-date, treated it kindly, no problem at all. I simply replaced the card in AGP slot, WinXP detected new hardware and installed a driver for it, still no problem. But The Game (notice the capitals) was horribly choppy even on 800x600x16, especially in menus, and the sound was heavily distorted. I was horrified. I was desperaded. And then, by a chance, I found that the ******* WinXP installed not the driver I had installed last time, but the last WHQL (is that right?) driver, which was ye olde 53.03 - for DirectX 8.1. I reinstalled the latest driver again, and I'm in heeeeeeaven now. RBR is just as sweet as your first love.

The conclusion is:
Do not believe anyone, especially WinXP, and always check what driver you do actually have when you are in trouble.

I have a question abaut ATI configuration.

How can I turn off AA and Filters in the control panel? I didn't find how to do it, max I can do is set it to lowest value (2x) or Application preference.

I have Radeon 9600 with Catalyst 4.7.

Thanks.

control panel - display - "settings" tab - click "advanced" button - this is the ati control panel ... - click the "3d" tab - make sure dot is on "diret 3d" - tick "use custom settings" - then click "custom" button - tick "aplication preference" for bith AA setting.

or untick "application preference" - then you can use the sliders to change the values 2x 4x etc etc.

If you have application preferenc and check that the program that you are using has AA off selected in graphic options then the AA is off.

Application preferenc lets the program deside if AA should be used or not bu turning on AA in the ATI control you ar forceing the AA settings so even if you have AA of in the game AA will still be forced by the graphic card.

hope it answered your question.

Is there anyway to modify the gamma settings for this game?

Ive only been in the school and thats ok, but now ive unlocked a few stages I tried USA and Japan and with - from what I can see foggy-ish weather (not sure if its fog or cloud) .. the brighness is just too much. You can see the dashboard clear as day but it just looks way too much gamma on it. It makes the levels look less realistic and is too bright, anyone notice this?

Its only on a particular weather setting, fine & sunny seems ok but I think its mainly bright & poor weather that everything gets a dash of mist and gamma then looks too high.

Dont know if there is any way in game to do it. But if you cant find any other way you can use powerstrip.

disable AF in the CP of you graphicard...

It seems like RBR is using a application 2 or 4 AF and if you active the drivers AF then there are those lines on the road..

I had too this problem; game just freezed up after like 5min of playing. No matter were you driving or waching replay.

For me, the Omega 4.8 drivers solved the problem.

Yes, I see this. But how can I turn them (AA and AF) totally off? Or can you?

Does that "application preference" mean like game will handle those? But if there, in game, are not options for AA and AF on/off. Like in RBR there aint. What then?

Sorry, Im little confused because Im not native english speaker.

That's what I had in mind when I wrote las topic... I'm not sure, I don't have the game yet, but some people says ther isn't AA settings "in game". So, how can we be sure that AA is off.

Nvidia drivers allows to put off AA, why Ati doesn't? I prefer Ati performance, but Nvidia control panel is better I think.
