Tough Trucks is a high-octane modified monster-truck racing game for the PC. Players experience the exhilaration of creating their own super-charged monster-racing machines and pushing them to the limit in challenges for such prizes as money, unique parts and prestige.
Tough Trucks gives players the chance to test their skills against the same obstacles and hazards that the real modified monster trucks face in a knockdown, drag-out race for the gold cup. After emerging victorious race after race on the various obstacle-ridden dirt tracks, players earn money and prizes to repair and upgrade their vehicle. Eventually, gamers will catch up with the competition, winning bigger prizes and unique parts, to ultimately convert a stock pick-up into a mini-monster truck that can match the skills and performance of its high-powered big brothers.
Tough Trucks offers six different stock truck models to choose from and 16 different dirt tracks to ride through. Players can customize design their vehicles with multiple paint and decal options. And tiered level progression and challenging bonus levels allow for multiple paths of advancement and big rewards.
There is also a new playable demo of Tough Trucks: Modified Monsters, allowing you to try out last Summer's monster truck racing simulation by Bugbear Entertainment and Activision Value. This is a trial version that can be played for a generous full hour, but also includes all content of the full game that you can activate after purchasing a license key online. I've also posted some screenshots. Will add more of them when I am done with the demo.

When I saw Bugbears name on this I thought it warranted a closer look.
If I tell you there is no cockpit view and auto transmission only, it should give you an idea what market this one is aimed at |

Yes, no cockpit view no rearview mirrors and automatic only.
It is great fun if you only have a keyboard though.
The graphics are great, but they need more content in it to be selling it for $19.95. Once you modify your truck all the way, there is nothing else to do but race the same courses over and over again (longest track takes like 1m39s).
No multiplayer, no track editor or creator, etc
I broke down and bought it (need a good keyboard game for office), but after 1 day and winning everything, I requested a refund based on their "30day money back guarantee".
This would be a hoot and worth it for some people, but it is really aimed at the arcade genre, obviously. I just couldn't believe it was that easy to max everything out..... |

whoaaa thanks for the heads up.. Automatic only?? , for a racing game.. for shame.
I was considering it too. I was really hoping for a monstor truck\offroad game.
Maybe something like 4x4Evo will come out soon that has physics put in the game. Evo has great content but phsyics were worse then CM.
