The fastest race on earth is set to return as Codemasters announces that IndyCar� Series 2005 will launch this summer, complete with head-to-head online racing for both Xbox and PlayStation 2. Officially licensed by the Indy Racing League�, IndyCar Series 2005 gets a boost with a host of new features to complement the action-packed oval track racing at speeds up to 235mph! The game's new online racing will see up to 12 players getting fiercely competitive out on the circuits on Xbox, with up to 8 players on PlayStation 2.
It is the only game to feature the full IndyCar Series season including the Indianapolis 500, which allows drivers to compete from Pole Day to Bump Day to race day as one of the 33 drivers in The Greatest Spectacle in Racing�. Racing action is realistic, accessible and authentic down to the very last detail, including TV-style presentation with race introductions by ABC Sports broadcasters.
IndyCar Series 2005 also features an advanced and updated AI system that renders each race as a unique experience. The AI drivers make dynamic strategic racing decisions, defend their position, slipstream to overtake other drivers, and even make mistakes.

They're breakin' my heart. And to think we'll miss out on real working mirrors and everything.
I suppose if they did decide to port this thing to the PC at some point there are plenty of things they could call it.

I was at Famosa March Meet last weekend and the 30 year old nostalgia dragsters were running 250mph, so I doubt that the NHRA considers the IRL the fastest race on Earth.
As for being the "Greatest Spectacle in Racing", with all due respect for the drivers and teams of the IRL, IMHO ALMS, F1, and a host of other sports car venues feature more cars, faster cars and they turn both left and right (not to mention running in the rain).
I for one won't miss this title on my PC. |

well if they don't want my money, then I guess they just ain't gonna get it are they ?
Actually all things considered it would most likely be a disappointing waste of money anyways, so, really it is good news. |
