Do you think so too?
I bouhgt Indy Car Series last month with the intention to get an realistic racing game like Nascar 2003 is one. But I was just disappointed. Started with the bad wheel configuration options which give you a constant understeering in turns and a inaccurately car control, which is at 230 mph not really good. So most races end in crash because the opponents don't vary their drivin' lines while batteling for places or suddenly get slower. Also it's impossible to draft with the AI when you're in front cause they always try to overtake you. Next you have a very slow reacting spotter what is especially in IRL a must have. The fact that the cockpit view only shows the rpm and the "look back" function instead of mirrors forbids the game to be called a simulation. What gives the game the real arcade style is that the auto pilot takes over when starting a race or when pitting. A nice option is the masterclass to get used to cars and tracks but what helps it when you just have unrealistic physics?
It's just to hope that the great modder's and editor's like those of nascar
will post some mods and addons to improve this game's potential |

Sorry you wasted your money. You can tell by the lack of posts related to this game that it's pretty much dead. I don't forsee any mods or patches. Everything you mentioned in your post has been mentioned by others who feel the same way. I have no desire to play the game. |

The underlying fact behind this entire tale is that yet another consumer was duped by fancy graphics, and expensive advertising. I DO NOT believe that when a company releases a bad product that it is in fact the customers job to try to fix it. If you wen't to a restuarnt and repetidly got a bad meal would you continue to patronize the establishment? I hope not. By continued support of lackluster products, that promise everything but deliver nothing we will never clense the industry of the garbage that they put out for us to consume. Everyone has a right to their oppinion but as far as I'm concerned their should be more products like Papyrus delivers. Good graphics and sound, but also realistic physics that link well and provide a good balance of excitement and online playability. What does the word race mean? Webster defines it as a contest of speed or rivalry involving progress toward a goal. You cannot and will not have rivalry on single player games, or games that will not link properly over the internet. Papy has benn able to do it for years on machines and links far slower than those we enjoy today. It's high time for consumers to put down these false idols for what they really are, and support those who have given us a good product for our hard earned money all along. I for one would love to see an F1, Indycar, GTP, or other such mods to race on, but I for one would only be willing to spend my time and money working on them if the game already has a solid base to build on. Come on people, when will you finally learn that every time we purchase a game the doesn't deliver as promised, we seen a message to the industry that it is ok to sell us any piece of junk so long as you make a profit doing so. I will only buy and install software from companies that deliver what WE (the consumers that are paying the bills on these project) ask for. If it's no good don't buy it, GP4 was a prime example, an otherwise decent game, but without an online link, just another piece of trash to forget. Geoff Crammond was told repetidly by the consumer in numerous online polls that was what we wanted, but instead he decided to deliver what he wanted. A financial disaster is our answer to his decision. It has been done, and the companies that make good products and not excuses are the ones we need to support if we want to improve the breed in the future. |
