A day earlier than expected, the playable demo of V-Rally 3 has been released, offering a chance to try out this imminent modern rally racing simulation by Eden Studios. This demo offers the Witchurch track set in England that you can take on in a Peugeot 206 2.0L. File is 64MB big.

This demo runs very bad on my computer. Where I get to pick the car, I get all kind of wierd triangles and other stuff. Same goes when the stage starts. Once the car gets going its ok. Anyone else having these problems?

My standard question: how does it handle??? Like the first CMR?

Oh the Humanity....
I hate to sound like a PC snob but I've almost come to the conclusion that It's not worth buying any game that is ported to the PC from a console as you invariable get stuck with whatever hardware/controller limitations that consolse have. No wheel??? even if they drop it in at the last minuet it would probable mean that the game play is so joypad centric that the wheel implimentation will suffer.

I just tried the demo out with my MOMO wheel, works great! Force feedback and all.
Opinion. Hmm.. well, very V-rallyish but better then the previous versions. Still arcady if you ask me. You don't have real contact with the ground it seems, too predictable. However, I must confess it was fun... So if your looking for realism, wait for RBR. If you just want what I would call a VERY good arcade rally game, download it.

it really does suck. u can stop on a dime, turn on a dime, cant lock ur brakes, car is glued to the road etc...etc... and not to mention that they left a lot of the car untextured, those lazy asses. |

Yeah, JZ nailed it. This game does however have 'sim' potential......if they'd let you ride the horse. |

I just scrolled down to the command, pressed enter and put the wheel command in. It was a little different from other games but seemed to work.
Can't drive in manual trans. though, which I HATE.

I downloaded this game demo...hoping for a nice game (only rally game i have on my computer is Rallisport Challenge). Man is this game BAD! The handbrake is not even felt when you press it, steering is terrible (with a logitech MOMO Racing wheel).

I agree the game sux from a sim standpoint. Don't we have enough arcade games people? I could probably do better with my keyboard than steering wheel. And yes, the car does NOT feel attatched to the road, too predictable. Try to do a donut, yea, that will happen in real life just like the game. Keep telling yourself that. It won't. Turns, spins, brakes, etc on dime. Only thing that kept me interested until I uninstalled was crashing the car up a little. And even that got boring fast.
I wish they had some modern cars for Rally Championship, or I would have bought that one in a heartbeat. From what I understand it is still the king of Rally Sims! But, I just can't take driving those old beater cars. |
