Colin McRae 3 is quite simply the best rally simulator in existence for PC. The graphics in the game are exceedingly and astonishingly well drawn, although aficionados might want to use a wheel controller to drive as the arrow keys on the keyboard do not give u the pin point accuracy and control you need to drive the cars. The game play has sufficient depth with a ton of stages to race through and a good lasting challenge that never gets boring.

How did they pay this moron to tap the keyboard? Colin Mcrea rally 3 is not a driving sim as apples are NOT boulders ripe for the picking. The sim is a close to the real rally experience as apples are to boulders. DId I mention I drive to moon every day and I have money trees growing in my back yard. Plus I don't burn CD's I grow the in my garden. Does this guy even know what a moron he is? I guess not, even boulders need friends.

Gees... tough croud. Hey Guys, we don't endorse these reviewers, we simply post the news that someone has written a review. The link above will take you right to the author. If you want to blast this guy, take your comments to him, not us. Obviously, he's never played Rally Trophy or some of the others if he's calling CM 3 the best ever but it's not fair to call the guy a moron just because he gave it a favorable review. I will say one thing for him...... at least he used proper grammer and spelled all of his words correctly.

Hmmm. I don't think the comments written here were blasts at BHMS. Like one sees in most threads these folks were just sharing their thoughts about this specific review with others on the thread. Nothing wrong with that. Not one of these comments took any shot at BHMS.
Codemaster's products have come in for a lot of well desrved criticism of late. Both CMR3 and PRD failed to provide a decent game for PC gamers. Many threads throughout this site and others have covered the various ways that these games have failed. The reviewer was obviously either very poorly informed or had some ulterior motive for writing such a review. I think this is what drew forth the vehemence seen in these posts. People get tired of reading obviously slanted information about games that we have either bought or intend to buy. I have personally been stung because some reviewer wrote a decent review about a game that was poorly designed - and I bought it based on that review. Reviewers have impact on the sim community and we need to exxpress our disagreement in public forums when an incorrect review is written. This is a service to others in the sim community - and one that is needed to counterbalance reviews such as this.
I might personally chose to do it differently, but their thoughts come through lound and clear. Poor grammar (spelled with an 'a' not an 'e', BTW ) and all, these comments may keep some other poor shlob from spending hard earned cash on a game they might be sorry they bought.

Point well taken Kool...
My point was that these folks should have followed the link on the reviewers page and made their comments to the reviewer there. I checked their forum today and there were no comment made there.

A few times I have contacted the author of reviews such as this, only to be told that I?m the one without a clue. Furthermore there are simply too many reviews to bother with really. The number of "Great" reviews of PRD and CRM3 is astonishing. But when you think about it, understandable. Take Team Redline for example, the best sim racing team on the planet, arguably. They know what is a sim, and what isn't, having the best in pretty much every field from GPL to nascar etc.
They do reviews on their websites, and when given a codemasters game, the usually slam it, as they know its a pile of crud. What does this mean? Codemasters do not give them any games to review anymore. And really, that?s the truth of the industry. If you start shortchanging the big software houses like codemasters with honest reviews that end up being negative, you no longer receive anything to review. You need a constant supply of material to review, for that is your business, and without this, your company will fail. So what do you do? You sing the praises of everything significant that lands in your laps, much to the harm to the average Joe gamer.
My comments (which were spelled correctly and contained correct grammar last time I checked), were merely a sharing of my views about this review to other people in this thread. Im not having a crack at BHMS in the slightest, but really, any story where people comment upon it, then comment could be made that they should have instead followed the story to its source and made their comments there.
There is no point complaining to the idiot who wrote that review, as he probably had no choice in the matter. |
