Hey all! New to the forums here, found this great place through Google searching for this wierd problem. I have 2 PC's, both running XP, with all latest updates, etc. I can host/join from either comp, usually go through 1 race, then when switching tracks (not everytime), gameserver.exe will crash and kick me to the desktop. Rallisport stays running, I just have to restart the LAN game and I'm good to go again. This is a huge PITA for those multi-track series races. I spent a good hour on the phone with MS support, and didn't get very far there. Hopefully someone here has seen this issue! Help guys!
Thanks in advance! See ya in the dirt! |

Welcome to the greatest sight in the World!
Give this a shot. When in a menu in the game (low processing power) Try a ALT (HOLD ALT) then Tab. If this brings you to your desktop, do a control alt delete.
If allt tab dont work just do control alt delete. Go to your processes. Hit the mem usage twice to bring up your game exe to the top.
Right klik your exe of the game. THe multiplayer one if its there. Throw the priority power to Real Time or High if possible.
THis will tell windows to throw more memory to your game.
RIght klik my computer, go properties, advanced, Performance settings, then advanced again. Set memory usage to SYSTEM CACHE.
You will have to reboot. Hope this helps out.
And last, A good ole fashion defrag does wonders for program crashes like this. I nice tight hard drive means less time your game needs to search for files. |

Slash,
Tried your suggestions....unfortunately, no solution! Fragmentation isn't an issue, as I run Diskeeper with set it and forget it. It takes care of that for me! I've tried clean installs on both my systems, same problem. I can play single player all day long, it's only multiplayer that's giving me fits. This really cramps things up when I have a few buds over to play!
Any other ideas?? Anyone, Anyone? |
