Greetings:
I'm new, just registered, but I wanted to mention something I discovered. I bought TIR, installed, then installed the U.S. 1.3 patch as per the FAQ at Empire Interactive, and it still wouldn't run. I was getting really frustrated with it, so I just kept experimenting. Well, It runs great for me now. I am running DX 9.0a under fully updated Windows 98SE, and have been using the 44.03 nVidia Detonators for my GeForce 4 MX420. I uninstalled the 44.03 Detonators through the "Add/Remove Programs" dialog in the control panel. When it prompted me to restart, I said NO. I then ran a program called "Detonator Destroyer", and clicked the uninstall button in that program. THEN I restarted. Destroyer removes all the nVidia drivers it finds on your system, including those left behind by a normal uninstall. When my machine restarted, Windows wanted to install "Standard VGA Adapter" drivers. I clicked "Cancel". I then ran the install for Detonator 30.82 drivers, older drivers, but in flight sims, and now it seems in race sims, they offer better performance with fewer problems. You can get "Detonator Destroyer" and the old 30.82 Detonator drivers at: https://www.guru3d.com/ It's all available in the downloads section. Follow the instructions for Detonator Destroyer to the letter. Sorry, still no ideas for ATI users, but I hope this helps someone!
Cheers!
